DashHawk mounting...

When i was in my truck the other day an idea came to me (i have the edge evo tuner in it) and i was thinkin that maybe with some modifications i could mold the pod i have in my truck into the center dash peice in my car for the dashhawk since the edge and dashhawk are the same units with different tuning. Here is a pic. Anyone have any thoughts?

I have it mounted on the steering column slightly off center to the right. I can still see the entire speedo including zero, and the trip computer is completely still in view...literally doesn't block anything.

Can you post some pics? What bracket did you use?

I was contemplating getting a Dashhawk and mounting it centered on the steering column like the ones pictured in this thread, but I need to keep an eye on the slower speeds where I'm at.

I'll get a pic up after work today. I used the double sided tape and L-bracket that came with the dash to connect them together. I bought some velcro for vinyll apps at home depot to stick the bracket/dashhawk onto the steering colum. The dashhawk comes with some kind of plastic fake velco that didn't work. If you position it right you won't block your speedo or gas gauge at all. The only thing it will slightly block is the fuel light, and if you have you seat all the way low it may cut off some of the odometer. Where I have my seat now the only thing I can't see is the fuel light but I never take it lower than 1/4 of a tank anyway.

for me it sounds like too much work and a more permanent install. i want to be able to pull it out so i can use it in other cars. but thats just my thoughts and my reasoning. if you do take up that road good luck with it.

Sorry to wake up a pretty old thread, but I recently figured out a way to mount my DH with a $20 universal suction cup mount and a little velcro. Maybe someone will find this useful.
