I've been paying attention to the engine load percentage on my Dashhawk. Just idiling, it takes 22% load. I would have thought less.
If you're going less than 60MPH 6th gear seems to be only for downhill or flat roads. If I'm going below 60MPH in 6th gear slightly uphill, the load is 40% or higher. If I downshift to 5th the load goes down to 30% or so. Flat roads in 6th gear are probably ok above 55 MPH or so, if you can maintain a constant speed. If you need acceleration you're much better off in 5th or 4th, or even 3rd gear if you're passing.
Watching that engine load percentage will really teach you to keep your foot light on the gas pedal.
