Dash Problem!!!

I bought my Mazda 3 second hand and I don't know what excatly the last owner did to it. But on the right side of my dash there is a big scratch about 6 inchs long. Tried getting it fixed by an expert but you can still see it the texture of the dash makes this very difficult to hide.

Also On the panel that has the security led near the windshield. My Dash is crack from one end the the other, as if there was a stress a that point in the car.

My question is the next: Is there a way to take the dash apart and only removing the 2 pieces that a scrap without taking the intyre dash out of the car.

Basically I just showing what part I want to take out.Anyway All I Want To Know Is, If It Can Be Taken Apart Without having to take all the dash out.

Nah I was just in an accident and they didn't replace a part of the dash because it all has to be taken out and then that part with the "rash" is part of the airbag so you would have to get a new airbag.

Hi There

I'm very surprised to see this image, I have a crack in dash in the same place just like this, at once I was thinking whether this is pic from my dash, wow what a coincidence

I have a 2005 Axela right hand drive sedan car and its the same problem

Would you please let me know whether you managed to replace that part of dash or you fixed it in some other way

hey Nuwan,

sorry to see that i'm not alone to have this problem. I haven't found a solution yet, but i'll be replacing my windshield soon and i'll take a better look than.

Thanks, please keep me posted, I'm also trying to find the front part of the dash which I think is separately fitted from the look of it but I have to check it by a mechanic and see

I'll also keep you posted, do you have any idea how this could have happened? from the image you have posted and comparing mine also I thought may be it's manufacturing defect, any idea on this or is it caused by a big impact or collision ?

I found this in forum and it looks like this is a manufacturing fault where Mazda have recalled the vehicles..............

Description:
Some vehicles may have a crack appear (A) in the center of the dashboard even though there has been no impact to the dash. The dashboard may have been subjected to stretching tension duing production, which can cause a visible crack when combined with temperature changes.


**Personal note -
this happened immediately after I sent in for the 48K service
And since it's a cosmetic thing, it's not going to be warrantied.

If This Is part of a recall I'll go check with the dealer, because my car has had no minor nor major accident. And know that my car is for sale this is really buggin me.

i had the same problem with crack and i bought new dash but my car was stolen so i have no need.
I have Pictures too of dash and i can send it on request.

In your first picture if you are talking about the difference in the center part compared to the right side, that is how they come from the factory. At least that's how mine did and I bought it brand new..
