Damp Driver Seat After Rainstorm

So, I got my CX-5 (GT w/tech, leather interior) about ten days ago and have been loving it. My wife had it on Tuesday since I had her car at the shop, and she got caught in a torrential downpour -- as in, it rained 2" an hour. She got the driver seat pretty wet just getting in and out of the vehicle twice before putting it away in the garage as the rain continued.

I've noticed that ever since (three days now) the seat feels damp when I'm sitting in it. It isn't wet to touch, and I've put a towel on it when I'm driving and it isn't visibly wet either. But it just feels weird, like it's just damp. I check my pants when I get out to see if they're wet, and they're not but they feel like it.

Has anyone ever experienced this?

Thanks!!

You could put the heated seat on and see if it feels any different afterwards or if it starts steaming as it gets hot.

Maybe the padding under the leather is wet/damp. I'd leave windows open and maybe a fan blowing through all night. Ed

If there was excessive moisture in the cars upholstery than the interior windows would have condensation on the inside of them in the morning after a hot day.

Yup, that's also the quickest way to spot a flood car that's been reconditioned.
