damn it! I broke my grill, thanks alot stupid forums I trusted you!

well, there was this girl that was an administrator, and she decided to put indiglo guages in because she "loved rice". well she broke her guages, so she bought some more. $350.00. she convinced herself that she figured it out.. so she broke a second set of guages. after replacing those she realized, all she really wanted was a blue light instead of red. so she paid $1.00 and got one.. but i havent had the nerve to try to put it in yet.

SO.... it happens to everyone... there are post on here saying how easy it is to change the guages, and post that say you will break everything if you try... Its just a live lesson.. you lesson just happened to be $600 less than mine.. be happy

So your whining about this forum b/c you got the idea that yanking out your grille carelessly is the way to remove it, and you ended up destroying it?

Sorry bro, if your that careless, you need to go to the shop from now on for any modification. You better take it to the dealer to get it washed, you might accidently scratch off all the paint!!

I worked at the honda dealer every friday for 2 years ( its for school I don't get payed) all I think about is cars, I have been obsesst with cars sence I can rember, I consider my self to be fairly car savy when it comes to working on cars. I know this was my own stupid mistake and I'm not saying and one else is at fault. I think every body that read my post got the wrong idea the title was supposed to be a joke. (guess it wasnt funny huh)Agian I'm not angry at all!, I just wanted to share my experince and give a word of warning to people. I really like these forums and I do trust them, espechly when 314 people look at at a post and now one says "hey thats not right" I will trust it. This site has been so great for any info I could ever need about any protege

I will be getting some new gauges as well. I am tired of using my tripometer to know how much gas I have left! On top of that, I get no Temp reading!

<Narrator: "Source of Controversy" enters the room>

Whattup all.... I leave work for a weekend and come back and what do I find?? My post has been made the center of attention. Let me respond.

First off, I'm not upset at all, and I know you weren't either, pro. But the title of your post did kind of carry over into the post itself. I would just like to say, IT WAS NOT MY FAULT. As was stated by you yourself pro, 314 other people didn't mention anything about it not being right.

The instructions that I gave were per my experience. When I removed the grill, I was on my back, under the front of the car, and grabbed from the front of the car, and gave an upwards and outwards lift. The grill came off w/ a SMALL amount of force. I'm not sure if it was because I grabbed it differently, gave it just the right amount of pressure or what, but the clips gave way and just came off. When I replaced the grill, I popped right back into place w/ almost no effort and held itself in place w/ no problems at all.

So, I did post something I was 100% sure of. How was I to know that my experience would be different than everyone elses? I also seem to recal that the person whom I was replying to got the girll off as per my instructions.

Finally, I DID say a few times that you should just pull on the grill, however, in the same sentence I beleive I also mentioned that I didn't want to be responsible for anyone hurting their car.

So to sum it up, "It's not my fault".

Peace :D

Agreed, My experince just inspired me to remind people that other ppls cars are at stake, not that I was directly relating it to your post.
