Ok, so I was brosing the forums and I notised a post from a while back about removing the grill of a p5. Somebody (not naming any names here) said "just pull on the bottom grill it will come out " so I thought "oh, that makes sence, it must be just cliped on. It needs a good cleaning" So I walk out to my car grab hold start pulling it out only to find that I have just destroyed all but 2 of the clips holding it on! :eek:. After examing the mangled pieces I noticed that in order to properly relese them from their kung fu death grip you must push in a tab (simaler to the one on wiper blades) So I was like "o s***!" I called mazda and at first the lady was like 180$ I said "WHAT!? for a stupid little plastic grill!" the lady then responded "oh you just wanted the bottom one, that's only 27$." I was like "thanks, now I gota go change my boxers :mad:. so that was a reliefe. Any ways getting to my point try to avoid posting somthing that your not 100%sure about. You have to rember that peoples cars and possably lives are a stake here. Don't give out faulty instructions alot of people trust this site for good info to aid them in ther protege owning experince. Lucky for me this is an inexpencive part. So If you don't know for sure dont post it, please.

uhm isnt there a "try at your own risk" warning somewhere?...uhm and next time, do not blame anyone else for your lack of.....intelligence, by NOT examining what you were trying to pull. its like someone telling me that the mp3 only has 4 lug nuts, so im only taking of 4 and then pulling the wheel with all my might....bad example but eh, what can i do.:cool:

Gotta agree with Manuel a on this one. Geez didn't your mom ever tell you not to just blindly follow others as a kid? Next time I'd really suggest accessing your situation before just reading something somebody posts here and trying it for yourself.

let me get this straight...u are blaming someone else because YOU broke your grill?? oooooooookkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk :eek: :eek:

[voice of reason]ok, calm down folks[/voice of reason]

did you try to pull your grill outward?, if you get on the ground, and shimmy under the front end, you will see the "clips" that the post referred to, you must remove them first, before wildy yanking on your grill. its not the forums fault.

Hey, I think we should all go easy - obviously promp3 didn't make it to school very often.

"brosing" = browsing
"notised" = noticed
"cliped" = clipped
"examing" = examining
"relese" = release
"simaler" = similar
"180$" = $180
"27$" = $27
"gota" = gotta
"reliefe" = relief
"Any ways" = Anyway
"rember" = remember
"peoples" = people's
"possably" = possibly
"a stake" = at stake
"alot" = a lot
"ther" = their
"experince" = experience
"inexpencive" = inexpensive
"dont" = don't

I know I'm a big pain in the ass, but really! I hope he was just careless with his typing, but people (me) do base judgments about intelligence on this sort of thing.

I am disapointed in the forums for breaking this guys front grill. You should all be ashamed of yourselves, just like i am. We need to stop breaking people's cars because it is just not right. (just a little sarcasm here)

He does have a point here though. But self-assured research is always best!

My last input on this topic...I've since gone and read the topic in question and it was mentioned even in that post that there were clips holding the grill. As well, the topic was pretty long with lots more tips after that first post. To even make it worse, the guy who posted it even specifically said he didn't want to suggest people pull too hard and break the grill as he didn't want that to come back to him. :rolleyes:

Things that make you say.......hmmmmmmmm!

Well i just want to ad my two cents in about this. The person that broke his grill is just plain dumb! I read that post about taking off the grill and the first post said that it did just come off. All you had to do was pull hard enough. So i boke the wire mesh and went to go make my own front grill. i went and started to pull. didn't even move. again i pulled harder and didn't come off. This is when common sense should kick it for that guy b/c after those two pulls at the grill i got under the car and noticed that it had alot more holding it in. In the end i got it off in 10 min.

I think this guy that broke his grill just doesn't have common sense. plain and simple!

Wow I diddnt expect that reaction at all! I really wasnt trying to blame anybody or say the forums sucked or any thing. I'm sorry if it came across that way! It was late and I diddnt prof read.
I agree that this is a result of my own stupidity how ever the clips that were cliped on to the bars that run verticly broke also, there was was no way to prevent that from haping, I diddnt even pull all that hard, maybe this is a problem with the grill its self? Why did all of you take this so personly. I know I cant spell and I dont krarr eather.here is the post I was talking about
ps. Im not pist off at all at anybody or about breaking my grill I have nothing but love for every member in this forum (so far)

The title of your topic is: "damn it! I broke my grill, thanks alot stupid forums I trusted you!", but you weren't trying to blame anyone or say that the forum is stupid!??!?

Hmmm....maybe spelling isn't the only class you missed?

C'mon guys, cut him a break. For starters, the attitude from the thread title wasn't carried over into the post itself.

Yes, it was his own fault, YES, the original post warned about clips, YES, he kant spel and it's distracting...but his advice is good. Not that it's ever happened, but just make sure that if you're posting something (like how to fix something on the car), just make sure that your instructions are right.
