damn , got a speeding ticket

73 in a 55 zone, highway.
2 chp's were sitting behind some bushes, nothing i could do.
i bet i wouldn't have got caught if i didn't just install my cobb
intake, wanted to open it up.

anyone have an idea how much this will be? riverside county, CALI
i'm hoping under 300 with traffic school.

i haven't gotten a ticket in over 8 years, oh well, i shouldn't have been speeding. (eekdance)

i knew it was just a matter of time until i got busted, it's been 7 mos since i
got the car, that's pretty good w/o getting a speeding ticket haha

i just got a 73 in a 60 ticket a few weeks ago in indiana. the kicker is that i had been following an old barreta for about 100 miles (going the same speed) the cop pulled me over then told me that i was leading the pack becuase the barreta in front of me was doing 72.....BS

cost me $191 to defer the ticket so it wont go on my record.

normally i do chill, but this is a wide open highway, no cars around at this time of day, so i decided to give her a little gas. at least the officer was cool.
he said nice car, and to slow down, but still gave me the ticket, oh well.

Sucks. I feel your pain bro! I had the same happen to me. Was the only car on the road and running late(never a good enough exscuse) and got busted doing 88 in a 65. He was decent considering I was the only car. Told me to slow down, and also comented on the car. He didn't know wht the Pro5 was. He thought it was a Subaru.

Anyways, still got the ticket nad had to go to school for it.

Lesson learned here as well. It's cheaper all around to just slow down. Lower insurance, no tickets, better mpg

but apparently had a been going 72 (like he told me that car in front of me was going) my life would not have been in danger.

what do you think is more dangerous? a mid-90's barreta going 72mph
or a 07 Mazdaspeed 3 going 73mph???

No tickets in my MS3 yet but there have been a couple of close calls!!! After getting two tickets within 2 years and getting a letter from the DMV saying I could lose my license, I sloooooowed down. But now one of those tickets is off my record at least

If you get pulled over for streetracing, YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR LICENSE FOR ONE YEAR PERIOD!

Trust me. A year without a license sucks!!

yep he pulled some 'super troopers' BS too. he was coming the other direction saw us and made a u-turn. i saw him my rear view FLYING in the left lane to catch up (without his lights on) I thought he was gonna get the barreta in front of me. but just as he got to my front quarter panel he turned on his lights, SLAMMED!! on his brakes, and AGGRESSIVLY merged right behind me.

73 on 55 is ok, less than 20 over speed limit means u can go to traffic school, in cali that ticket will be about $280. I ve had my car for a year and i have had at least 10 close calls but I honestly think this car looking like a station wagon (silver) helped because in other cars ive owned i would have gotten bent!!

yea i figure it would be right around ~300 including traffic school.
i've had a ton of close calls also, but silver + station wagon looking
they tend to go after someone else.

Only one ticket so far but I didn't have a radar detector then and those a**holes were hiding way off in the bushes. Since then, the detector has saved me more times than I can count. And while for the most part I respect residential speed limits and don't drive like a dumbass through school zones, I didn't buy this car to drive like grandma.

To the op: spend the money and get a decent radar detector. If you can get a used V1 or other high end model, do it, but most in the $200.00 range will do a good job - you get what you pay for. Avoid the cheap-o units.
