Damaged my rim

I chipped my oem wheel pretty bad last night trying to avoid being hit by a big ass Ford truck cutting into my lane last night.

Do you guys know how much will it cost to get the exact same wheel? Do I have to go through Mazda dealer to get them.

btw, I did search through Mazdaspeed forum and nothing answered my question. Thanks

That sucks man.

I destroyed one of my mags this weekend too, ( and am hopping i didnt **** up my direction too bad, the whole thing bent backwards ). Anyway if you go through a dealer it will cost you alot ( i don't know for MSP mags, but the Racing Hart's on MP3's are wayyyy overpriced if you get them through a dealer ).

Yeah the dealership will ass **** you for those rims.
My dealership had 4 with tires for $1800(us)
And i know my lowly ES stock rims were about 250 each or some s***, so i bet the MS ones are well over 350 a rim.

Yeah my dealership just called me
1 freakin mag is 675$ canadian. haha
They are crazy. Without tires. They told me i need 2 new tires as well, like 400$ canadian each tire. I think i'll get some parts myself!

Yeah, you could get 4 new rims AND tires for the price the dealership wants for 1 rim and 2 tires

Yup, i might go with that. I will try to find a mp3 rim on ebay or here, but i doubt i'll be able to just get 1. I'll probably end up selling my remaining 3 and getting new kick ass rims. And i needed 4 new tires anyway.

I'm still in shock about the price tough.
Plus they told me i need to get my windshield fixed, 700$ haha. Those guys are funny as hell. Why get it fix if the next rock will instantly break it anyhow.

Actully the Racinghart CR is the wheel used on our cars. I have seen them in various cataloges for 1099 with tires. Or like 900 without. Plus if you like the wheel you can get them in 18's.
Try Wheelmax.com or check racinghart.com

I got lucky. My dealer, (who is also my friend), hooked me up with this plan. You pay 300$ and it covers your wheels and tires for 5 years. So if you bust a rim or pop a tire they will replace it. Pretty sweet!

Actually, those are NOT the exact wheel. They look similar, however, look closely and you'll notice a bit of difference around the hub where the lugs go.. There's a cover there, which our OEM wheels do not have. You'll also lose the flying M center cap.

PochaccoMSP, get a reply from Mazdaformance?

I got one for my wheel:

Your price for the MP3 wheel (9965-05-7070) is $279.20 US.

Man the dealers are real con artists. They are in for a rough time tomorrow when i go see them.

Altough i still don't know what to do. There are so many nice rims out there :)

This is the quote from the guarantee:

Exclusions:......tires damaged through impact with curb...sidewall damage...

Since I hit the curb trying to avoid an accident, my case would be probally be excluded. The damage is at where the wheel and the tire come together. I think it's pretty obvious that it's not from a pot hole.

I did not get any reply from Mazdaformance. I am planning to check with a different dealer in town tomorrow.

Good luck with your dealer, dealers are indeed con artist.

From memory, they are "only" ~$320 a wheel. Not cheap, but no where near what I expected from a dealer...

There's one on the for/sale forum.. he's looking for 80 shipped..
a little scratched.. but I bought the other one... and it's not bad..

I'm sure scratches can be taken out with minimal bux....

Here is the reply I received from Mazdaformance:

Your price for the 03 Mazdaspeed wheel (9965-12-7070) is $246.75 and for the
03.5 Mazdaspeed wheel (9965-18-7070) is $369.71.
