Well lately my car has just been a PAIN IN MY A**. Idk what is up with the idle and i think the motor mounts are shot. O and the brakes are warped. I want to fix up the car and just be happy with it but idk wtf is wrong with it.

so what would you guys do???
- the brakes need to be changed
- Mounts need to be replaced
- and i am PRAYING that once i put the stock manifold back on everything idles like factory
- 1000 dollar deductable for damage from F**cking vandals
- 57,000 miles so who knows what else will go wrong
- already gone through 2 transmissions

Find the vacuum leak and all will be gravy

Motor mounts, a brake job and a vac leak. Those are easy, take a weekend to replace those parts and you'll be fine. Some vac leaks are a pain but that's because their so easy to get on this car.

normally I would say fix it

but with the vandal damage deductable on top of everything you might be better off getting something more reliable

unless you wanna spend the time to get your LSD welded, go through and find your vacuum leak (check your BOV...Ive been trying to find my vacuum leak for months now and then I found out the other day that my HKS SSQV was leaking all along...), and continue to fix problems with it then your gonna wanna get something else

I love my msp, and I get frustrated from time to time with fixing it, but I will still say 'Im going to fix it' before I would ever consider selling it...but if you dont want to bother dealing with issues coming up in the future then your better off with something else

unfortunately for us the MSP has no pain tolerance....she runs like a dream come true most of the time, but if one thing goes wrong, no matter how small, she will be a HUGE thorn in your side until its fixed...=(

Oh well atleast you are going to stay in the mazda family. Thats all that really matters.

thats not enough to warrant getting rid of it. Its all simple maintenance things for the most part...yeah the mounts breaking sucks but such is life. Its most likely the front one. If it is then replace it. If the sides are kosher then just take them out and fill them w/ window weld to get a solid mount.

Yeah $1000 deductible blows... i voted to fix but its really up to you. With all the time involved it would be a lot easier to buy a new car. At my age im at $8per hour so i would fix it :/

I'd definately fix it! But either way talk to you're insurance on getting a better deductable. The monthly payment difference is minimal and will be worth it!

Mines paid for and lots of money into her so if something goes I will fix it!!

yea but the tranny has given nothing but problems and i wont have money to fix it when it goes and thats why i am getting rid of it. plus i really want the speed3 cause it will be a more reliable car. Intake, exhaust, and appearance stuff. no more modifying like the msp. i need reliability

Good luck with the new ride if that's what you decide!

For reliability see user name Focus and check out his build!

There is definately a large pricetag for reliability with these cars!
I'm nearly there!!

There's a high price tag for reliability if you screw around with the car. 60k on the clock and I have had ZERO problems with my car. Well, when I did have mods my clutch was having problems holding the power, back to stock, same clutch doesn't have any issues. If you mod your car, more likely than not, reliability goes in the toilet. Maybe I am just lucky and got a run of the MSP that doesn't have issues.

1000 deductible? Are you nuts? Why is it so high? You're asking to get f'd if anything happens to your car. At least $500 is "affordable" if someone vandalizes your car, tree falls on it, get into a wreck, etc. You might want to do some math on your premium versus deductible and see if the premium is worth it.

Either way, good luck with whatever you decide.

cant agree more... Mine has 66k and no issues...im sure its because ive limited my mods to an intake and Corksport exhuast...never turning up the boost or beating on the car...

and also as far as the deductible, I just recently realized mine was that high and when i changed it to $500 my monthly premium only went up a few bucks...definitely do it...

I only beat on mine during auto-x, which has only been a few events a season up until next season.

I increased all of my coverage limits to 250k/500k, from 200k/300k and moved comp deductible from $500 down to $250, added rental and roadside and my premium went up by like $30 a year. It's worth that $30 a year, believe me.
