Daily drivers where do you shift at?

i rev the hell out of my
ine, so i shift anywhere between 3k and 6k

When im just cruising I shift 1st at 3K and the rest at 2200ish. Yeah I drive like a granny but no point in going fast when your just going to be stopping in 50 yards at the next light.

yes i drive like a granny here and there but like coyfish said alot of stop lights in my town and what not. but dont get me wrong nothing like opening it up or shifting like 4 or 5k

god, it must be terrible to be a driver behind you...

I shift at 3000-3400 during normal acceleration, sometimes earlier in the higher gears.

Our car accelerates faster shifting at 2200-2500 than a honda civic driving spiritedly. What would be wrong with behind that?

same, 2200 to 2500, im really anal about getting into boost! and even when driving like a grandma, i still feel obligated to give it its proper cool down idle time!

1st and 2d, around 4K. 3d and 4th, 3,500. Hardly ever get beyond 5th (max 50mph).

just shy of 3k, unless im starting up a hill then i take it to around 3.5k. and then depending on the speed limit of that road i try not to put it in a gear that will put it less than 2k rpms....unless im in a really flat area.

im not a big fan of the less than 2000rpm range in a small engine

Around 3K easy driving... 4K on hills and pulling out from lights where a minivan might steal my thunder.

I have new input. I was just out running errands and found that I take it up to around 3500-4k in 1st and 2nd and then shift around 2500-3k for 3rd and 4th and then just drop it into 5th to cruise.

3K most gears normal driving, about 4-5K spirited (ie. getting on freeway on ramp), or if I'm pissed someone is going too slow.

2K under two conditions:
1. Wife in car, she gets sick.
2. I have a McDonalds or similar large cup with a half-assedly placed cap on it dripping Coke onto my cupholder and I do not want it to spill further.......plus the cup gets in the way of my shifting arm......have to grip the shifter from the top with like two fingers and my thumb all dainty like.

I always wondered why people made these threads...

I mean, if you shift at 3k, but someone else says they do it at 4k...are you going to change your driving style to match that other person?
