eh, i was going to do some defense for us younger kids on the board (im 16 and 11/12) but i guess since his dad is buying him the whole car i wont, you think he'd pay for my new turbo? cause the clutch thing set me back into working for another month or so
i got 10 grand for my mp3 from the parents, that seems pretty fare price for a first car that will run good, look decent, and kinda sorta proform, i saved up and paid off the other half, so im a car owner at 16, ugh. cars run up expenses quick.

Just a suggestion. In the future maybe you should call the dealership yourself or at least say that you did instead of having your dad call. That sounds realy bad. I guess that I am just getting old, I'm only 27. But Jesus, be a man, if it is going to be your car, then do the leg work and put some effort into it.

Parents are there to give their kids the best life they can. His dad probably worked very hard to be rich, and just because he is the son of that man doesnt make him spoiled, its just how it is.
BTW, if you cant tell, my parents got me my car, i'm 19. they are paying for my college tuition, and all my expenses. Thats what they are there for, love and support. Support includes the moneys.
Dont let these guys get you down for not working for the car, your work involves showing your dad just how much you appreciate him and what he does for you.

yea allen has a point, but still, everyone, send me money, i accept checks, money orders, and cash. 
You have alot of growing up to do. your parents aren't there to give you money or buy you cars, support is not the same thing as money unless you are a single barefoot mother, are u? Your parents are there to teach you lessons in life and give you advice and to teach you have to be a man. You need to get a job and support yourself. You appreciate things much more if you work for them. I see you like you all the time who parents but them and give them everything. It is those kids who turn out to have problems, becasue what they didn't get was love. I would know, I am a social worker.
I do agree that lot of "rich" kids today are usually spoiled rotten and think too highly of themselves. Unfortunately, to cut down a kid without actually knowing him/her is not fair.
If I were under 18 years old, I'd seek the advice of my father and have him make the call to the dealership since it is HIS money that will be buying me the car. Not to mention, who has more experience between the two (father and son) in buying a car? You think a car dealer wouldn't hesitate to persuade an inexperience buyer to spend more money on unecessary purchases?
Not every child from a rich family tends to think like a rotten kid. Some kids just have the luck in life to acquire the means in order to obtain nice items for themselves.

Plus, I think giving them material items is not the problem... it is how they use them, that is the problem. Do they appreciate what they receive, or will they look at it like a tooth brush... use it for 3 months and just switch to a new brush?
