Dad got a 370Z

So I know this is non-mazda related but I my dad just got a new 370Z. Unfortunately he got an automatic but that's cause he doesn't have much feeling in his feet and was having a hard time with the clutch. Anyway, I figured you guys on here might know of some good nissan performance websites. I googled and found a few, but none that looked that great. I'm excited to drive it even though I know my speed would destroy it.
 
haha...my dad just got a g37s coupe and was asking me about performance stuff. wish i had his car instead cuz i'd hook it up with an intake and exhaust right quick. just google it
 
your speed will not destory nor beat a 370z. they run low mid 13's. with a good driver. can even get into high 12's. most importantly, they trap around 108. with intake and exhaust, they trap 110.

sorry but we have to be damn never fully bolted to hang with a Z let alone bet it
 
I don't necessarily agree with your statement, for one that depends on the MODEL, 2 it's an automatic, 3 depends on how much balls the persons got to run it to the full potential of the ride. plus based on his mods yea I think he would lay the smack down on a stock auto trans Z.

Stock MS3's can easily run 13's. Judging by his mods, I'd say the OP could at least keep up or beat it. I also just scanned a 370 forum and it appears that stockers are running mid-upper 13's. There were several with many bolt on's and tunes barely hitting 12's. Light mods seem to run mid-low 13's.
 
my buddies dad got a nismo 370z, we took it for a drive one night.. it was pretty sweet

our cars run 14's most of the times. i know we can run 13's stock. i ran 13.71 at 102 with intake.

350z HR run mid 13s. the 370z is a low mid 13 sec car. we can not beat them unless there is a bad driver in the 370z or we are damn near fully bolted

HRs trap 104-106. 370s trap 106-108. while we trap 98-101 stock. 101-104, with a number of mods. and 108-109 fully bolted

do the math.

hes stage one, so at very best. the highest he'll trap is 103. and thats pushing it. not to mention, that means his power band is good from 2500-5900rpms. while the Z pulls through 8 and are really strong on the top end.

trust, i know. ive raced my boys stock 135i many times, which are underrated. they make the same power at the crank as the 370. which is 330hp. i can post numerous stock dyno sheets

i was stage 2 but had testpipe instead of DP and TP and stock mani. my boys car wasnt close to being broken in(only 400miles on the clock)

from a 30mph roll to 130mph. i could only put a half a car on him. once fully broken in, he would beat me. stock 135is and 370z, are pretty even with one another.

Check out this link. The majority of the stockers (at least the ones posting) are running between 13.5-13.8. With mods, they're hitting low 13's. I've only noticed 1 or 2 guys in the 12's, and that appears to be with a good amount of bolt ons.

And what "math" am I supposed to do to come up with those numbers? There are too many variables that play into a 1/4 mile time. And trap speed doesn't mean s***. 13.8 is 13.8; whether you do it at 101 or 108.

its the drivers dude!

most of us MS3 owners ran 14.1-14.3 stock. hell, even worse that than...15's

trap speed means everything b/c its the only way to see how much power a car is making. E/T is all reaction and driver error or lack there of.

if you think a car that traps 101 can beat a car that traps 108, on a roll, you are smoking some good stuff.

a car that traps 105-06 will not beat a car that traps 108, on a roll.

so yes, trap means everything

ive seen two guys at the track with 370zs. one ran 13.2-13.3 at 107-108, stock. the other had intake and full exhaust. he ran 12.8 at 110.

ive seen another guy with a 370z run 14.1 at 105

but a car that traps 108 can get an E/T in the low 13's. the car that traps 101, will struggle to hit 13.8 while it can be done.
 
Well see, to me that's the only place that matters....the track. I would never race on the street, so "at a roll" means nothing to me. Yeah, the Z has a serious power advantage and driver skill does mean a lot, I understand that. My only point is that trap speed doesn't mean anything at the track. If I run a 1/4 mile in 13.5 at 105, and a Z runs 13.6 at 110, I still win. Yeah, the Z might be faster, but I finished first.....which is all that matters. I'm not trying to take anything away from the Z, its an awesome car. Nor am I trying to argue. All I was saying is that a stock MS3 CAN keep up with a stock Z......just depends all on driver skill.
 
with a good driver in each car, the MS3 cant keep up with the 370z. you know the many advantages the Z has over our cars. just sayin.

ive seen a good driver in a stock 370z run 13.2 and 13.3 at 107 and 108. even with a great driver in the MS3, thats not happening and it wont be a close race.

again, just sayin
 
ok so maybe my statement was a little premature but I've seen several videos of speeds creaming Z's from a roll.
 
from a roll. yes. hahaha they are just both in 2 completely different leagues. the z is a true track car though. its the epitome of a sports car.

and i love both cars for different reasons.
 
from a roll inculded. we dont stand a chance. again, 370zs can trap 108 STOCK. the power pulls to 8rpms and its stong. while we only make power to 61-6200rpms. and thats even stage 2

tell you dad to beat the piss out of his motor so it breaks in nicely. then go race him and report back. i bet the results will be what i stated
 
Yeah, I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good/reputable nissan performance websites. I've found a few on google, but again, not knowing the community I don't know if they're any good or not.
