Cx9 Smart Key - Weak transmitter

I have been having issues with my cx9 smart key (credit card key). Looks like it has a very weak transmitter as it does not lock or unlock the car even when I am standing next to it. I changed the battery in the key but it does not work either. It happens to me almost every day and I have to press the lock/unlock button several times (5 - 10 times) before it does it. Has anyone on the forum had any of these issues? This makes me believe that Cx9 smart key does not have a good transmitter. Or, the receiver in the car is not good enough to accept the command. Something is going on here.

Thanks

Question: does the same thing happen to the other door and hatch?
If yes, it is the key itself or the ECU (hope not). If not, it is the sensor inside the driver's door.

You should have two smart key fobs for your car. Assuming this is true in your case, does the second fob (with a fresh battery) behave the same? If so, then the problem is in the receiver.

Agree with Weeks1 ^+1.

If you have only 1 keycard, better get the second one before you current is lost.
BIG MONEY to spend if you do lose it.
