CX9 Rear Drive Issue

Mazda cx9 2008 awd
I have a 2008 AWD CX9 that's completed nearly 300,000 hard kms.
It appears that that the rear axle is driving at all, front wheels always spin with or with out traction control On and no mater what I've tried they seem to do nothing. I've got new shocks and springs coming for it as its towed trailers most of its life and they need replacing.
Any ideas on what causes an issue like this.

Welcome!

Did you mean to say "appears that the rear axle is driving it all" ? or did you mean to say "appears that the rear axle is not driving at all" ? if the latter statement is true, your transfer case or rear differential may be shot?

Yeah sorry, the later as in the rear wheels don't drive at all

Keep in mind, and I can't confirm this, but, when I was shopping for CX-9's, I was told during my research that the rear wheels don't drive at all unless any kind of slip is detected. But if you are saying your front wheels spin, then obviously there is a problem. May want to get it checked out.

Purchased my 2008 CX-9 Grand Touring in August and noticed during fall weather (when it was raining or snowing) that my front wheels would slip far too easily. I took the car back to dealer where I purchased it, which was not a Mazda dealer and then to a Mazda dealer, where they both initially said everything was working fine. I knew something was wrong and found a TSB describing a possible Transfer case issue and what techs needed to do to identify it. The Mazda service manager agreed to inspect it again and found that- indeed- my 4W drive was not working and the Transfer case needed replaced. Now, going on the second week! in the garage and after a rep from Fidelity Warranty service inspected the vehicle- they are replacing the transfer case and the transmission. I am lucky to have it all covered under an extended warranty I purchased and the Mazda dealer provided me a "loaner" vehicle. Hopefully, I'll get my car back Tuesday or Wednesday.
I'll have to ask them if this was caused by bad degrading parts or if the previous owner was doing something to harm the car. I don't think either one of these parts should go bad in just 80,000 miles. Not that it matters too much, since I am getting them replaced, but I am curious.
