CX9 Rear Blower Problem

Hi All,

First off, hi to everyone. This is my first post here.

On to business ... isn't the rear blower supposed to blow hot air when you have it in rear control and set to heat at the rear thermostat? The dealer tells me it will only blow through the vents at the bottom. I kinda remember this working before if my memory is correct.

Strange Temperature Controls!

We recently discovered that if you want heat to the rear areas you must set the master dash control to the floor setting so the hot air goes under the seats in back. The control knobs on our 09 Touring CX 9 only really work when using the cooling feature?! No hot air blows unless the front main knobs are set for the floor. This is a weird set up to say the least but when you need to warm up your back passengers it works good. The folks way in the back should carry a blanket because they really won't get much heat otherwise! Since our weather here in S.Calif. doesn't really get that cold it is rarely an issue. However, when we took a New Years trip to Las Vegas and the temperatures got into the high 30's our passengers took awhile to get warmed up.

Thanks for the replies. I will check this out again the next time I drive it (wife's vehicle). It's been in the single digits to teens here in the NYC area!
