CX5 Turbo confirmed!

Maybe you guys miss out this time around due to the efforts in getting the diesel there.....

maybe mazda doesn't want to slow down the sales and have a lot of leftover non turbo GT's on the dealer lots.

Thanks for these!

Honestly, I believe that as much as I believe the stuff on other sites from Australia saying there will be a 2.5T. I could see Mazda not changing to much with the CX series. Sales are good and people are now buying the CX-9, which may be even more profitable for them.

Im confused by your post because the screenshots that were posted seem to agree with you. The only difference is that they perpetuate they diesel possibility.

Greetings from the future!! I'm currently driving our new 20xx CX-5 2.5T with Carplay and give it three thumbs ups if I could!! Just got back from the SuperBowl and really stoked my Los Angeles Chargers beat the Los Angeles Rams for their first SB win ever!! Anyways gotta get back to the future. There's a worldwide shortage of bacon, The Rock is the U.S president, and the NFL has been replaced by the FFL (Flag Football League).

Sorry, that post was confusing! I don't believe the screen shot is evidence of anything - just as I don't believe those rumors out of Australia.

I have no idea what Mazda will do with the CX-5. I could see them adding a signature model and milking their golden cow with the 2.5T and I could see them not changing anything as the sales of the entire CX lineup are doing well and heading in the right direction.

Haha no worries! But whats the fun in rumors if you cant believe them? :)

Yes sales are good but can be even better when most have said it should have the 2.5T

Mazda's profit margins are ~2.4%, which are terrible. I wonder if they make more money from cars like the Mazda 3 than they do with the CX-5 and CX-9?

Here they make money from their 2 best sellers - 3 & CX-5.

It has nothing to do with the model lineup, they get hit hard via trade costs in the US. Their new plant in the US will boost the margins. And for what its worth, Mazdas last four years are a pretty sight compared to the Ford partnership years where they were regularly losing money.

I'd bet the farm that they make more on a CX-9 than they do the 3- unit for unit..probably a lot more.

A much better use of the campaign slogan "Feel the Johnson".

(rofl)

Reminds me of that scene from Police Academy:

Chief Hurnst: [Lamenting the newly relaxed admission requirements for the Academy] "They all used to be the right color, the right height, the right weight. And they all had Johnsons, Lassard!

Cmndt. Eric Lassard: Johnsons?

Chief Hurnst: You know...

[motions to his groin]

Cmndt. Eric Lassard: Oh, yes.

Chief Hurnst: There were Johnsons as far as the eye can see.

Cmndt. Eric Lassard: Yes. And what a lovely sight it was.

Waiting for the specs/price if it ever comes out. Looking to replace my aging Tacoma truck since home projects are done and tired of the truck handling with bad gas mileage. Need a SUV that tows 1200lbs (jetski/trailer). Also own a 2016 MX5 as a fun car :).
