I have read that the "6 speed is tuned for quicker takeoff". That was long a complaint of mine. Super weak off the line. Anyone know more?

That's one of my bigger complaints too, although may be partially due to my non-spirited driving much of the time. I still want it to go right now when I punch it pulling onto a highway or something.

He had a turbo 2nd gen, and I have a 2018 GT, only one engine offered that year in the US.

Yes, sports mode alleviates the shortcoming for me, but presents others.

At most speeds sport mode is 2 shifts down. So when you say "want it to go right now when I punch it pulling onto a highway or something." you'd have to already be driving in sport mode. Other wise hit the down paddle twice if available
