CX-90 Spare tire bolt breakage

Hello
There was a strange noise in our car while driving, we stop and check the spare tire, I found out it was moving, and found out the bolt was broken. The diameter of the bolt is about 15mm and the thread segment is less than 5mm.

Has any member of this group had this problem?

First time I ever heard of this happening.
Is the bolt made of aluminum?
A pic would be nice.

Hi, picture enclosed. By it’s weight it’s not aluminum

Also, the padding, where the tyre rest, it’s so thin that it breaks when you move it as it’s not adhered to anything. Such luxury car should not have this issues.

On my old Prius ('05), the side mirrors were attached to body by 3 alu bolts.
I broke a couple of them... with a screw-driver w/o trying hard.

In your case, warranty should cover it unless they can prove that you did something abnormal.
