cx-7 stands out in auto show, and 2008 regular gas

I recently went to this auto show where they show off all the 2008 models of car makers. Looked at RAV4, and was instantly turned off by the cheap interior, and awkwardness of the trunk door. The other competitors like Tribeca, CR-V, all have worse specs for more dough. The styling interior and exterior of cx-7 really stood out. The EPA mileage of 2008 cx-7 (16/22) is very much comparable to the competitor models too.

I asked a mazda rep what change 2008 brought on the engine. He said they did something to the engine so that no premium gas is required. He also mentioned that 2007 owners should ask their dealerships or mazda directly (through live chat on the internet or call/email otherwise) about the possibility of retro-fitting the 2007 model to do the same. He said it's a possibility, but he was not sure.
