CX-7 losing value too quickly

We traded our CX-7 in a couple months ago.

It was about 7-8 months old, liquid silver/black leather touring with AWD, 18,000 miles.

Numerous dealers, the max we could get was 19,000. 8 months before we paid something like 29,000.

obviously the miles played a huge part, but man... we took a bath on that one.

(was great car though, we just hated the 560 dollar payment)
 
Something that should be noted, which I have not seen, is that (at least in FL) you do not have to pay taxes on the value taken off from a trade-in.

Why would you get into something without factoring in the payment long-term? Sorry, but stuff like this just confuses/irritates the hell out of me (chair)

KBB prices are based on California, where used values tend to be much higher for imports.

I dunno about that. You input zip code on the KBB site when calculating your car's value...
