It looks like my CX-7 puts out about the same horsepower and torque at the wheels as my 2006 GLI (before mods). See http://www.cp-e.com/imgs/cx7_dyno_power.jpg (CPE pre and post intake) for CX-7 and http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3409798 for the VW (GTI same as GLI). Yet Mazda rates the hp at 244, torque at 258, and the VW at 200 hp and 207 torque. The ratings on my RX-8 were WAY too high. So is VW super conservative, or is Mazda inflating the numbers?

Drivetrain loss, we have the Audi A4 and I love that thing, just wish it wasn't fronttrak.

And hopefully they did it right, meaning they put a fan over the intercooler, not blowing over it.
Oh and the engine moves around like no ones business, its probably the reason for about 20WHP lost.

Chip the VW and 20 minutes/$500 later, you have 215hp and 250 torque at the wheels, the greatest bang for the buck around. I can't figure out why many of the media testers say the CX-7 is laggy or slow or unresponsive. My 2008 FWD feels great. Maybe things improved with the 2008? I know that my RX-8 had multiple factory re-flashes, so maybe they finally got the CX-7 computer fine tuned correctly?

Yeah things we're drastically improved VIA PCM reflashes and TCM reflashes, and those we're released after the CX-7 was reviewed by the masses.
They don't know how to drive the DISI, you need to manually shift at 5800 RPM's for the best time.

I just had another re-flash done yesterday at the dealership along with some kind of recall for a shutter valve?? I haven't driven the car yet as my wife picked it up.

I don't know of anyone that makes a 'chip' yet on our cars. When they do though, I'll be first in line. Hell, even on my '96 Explorer a chip made a huge difference!!
