CX-60 Air Con Condensation Issue

Hi, I have a 12 month old CX-60 and I am having condensation issues when the car is in internal circulation only. All the other cars I have ever driven/owned with air con when the car is in internal circulation the cars do not steam up. When my CX-60 in external circulation the car is fine but not in internal circulation.

Does anybody else have this issue. Is it a faulty air con system? Could it be a design issue where the recirculated air does not pass through the air con system? What could the issue be.

Your help would be appreciated.

Thanks guys.

I can't speak for the CX-60 itself, but generally, your car (any car) is more likely to have mist/condensation when in recirc mode, than with external air. That's why usually, cars will automatically override recirc when you switch to windshield defrost mode.

Thanks for your response however please explain why does the air from the vents actually increase in temperature when you put the AC on rather than AC off. Also the temp from these vents is extremely high compared to what the display is set to. I have placed a thermocouple sensor in the vents and have measured the air temperature from the vents and have evidence on videos.

Also please explain why all my other cars that I have ever owned, rented, leased, these range from new GLC’s I traded one in for the CX-60, have never steamed up in recirculating mode. I have just bought a new Hyundai and this car does not steam up with internal circulation on nor does my new transit van.

I have been driving for 40 years, so I am not new to driving, I am an engineer and have a good grasp of AC systems within cars etc. therefore I know what I am talking about.

So I hear what you are saying I do not believe that the solution is that simple.

Another issue that I had during the early part of Jan 2025, I had a thick layer of ice on the inside of the car after being parked up for a few days during the freezing weather. Also on the 5th Jan 2025 I drove the car to London with 2 people in the car and I could not keep the windows de misted with or without the AC on or off.

There is a fault with the car and all I hear from people is excuses and not solutions.

Please take a look on the net regarding the CX-60 and you will see the amount of people who say that the AC is not working.

Well it looks like you've already determined it's an A/C system failure, so take it back to the dealer.
I have tried to take it back to the dealer. They are saying there is nothing more they can do. Their hands are tied by Mazda UK where I have even had a senior tech view the car. I have received letters from Mazda UK limiting the repair options. I am currently looking at legal.

This is why I published this post as I was wondering if anybody else had this issue, challenged Mazda UK and won. Also to learn if they had won how they achieved a resolution.
