CX-5 vs. Equinox comparison?

IMHO the Equinox is an inferior product. I test drove it and was not impressed: it's heavier than anything it's class, it's not really fast, the AT transmission is just usable, not accurate. I did not like the center seating position of the back seat.
If you want more power, consider the up-coming 2013 RAV-4, the new Escape or the CX-5 Diesel, if you can wait for it.

Will the 2013 Rav4 have a V6 option?

If not the quickest SUV in this class will be the 2.0L turbo Escape.

I am driving exactly the CX 5 GT red car that you want. 2700 miles later I have NO regrets. I am getting 24 MPG in the city and 30-31 on the highway. I was driving a "big six" suv and have no regrets on the 4 cyl that came with the CX 5. Buy it---you will love it!!!

Nobody knows for sure, but it's expected to continue to offer the V6. However, the 4-cyl RAV-4 is sufficiently peppy and is one of the quickest around, such that opting for the V6 is not really needed.
The Escape looks nice, but the prices are too much, especially for AWD which starts north of 27K for the 1.6L Turbo. Without incentives, it's just too expensive.

I can't wait for the CX-5 Diesel, which would have incredible unparalleled torque AND will have better fuel economy than the gas CX-5.
