CX-5 Topline Grill

"Unpainted. It can fit onto stock bumper as well." I don't see why there would be an issue. I ordered a lot of stuff from them, they are good.

Comes out to $400 total after shipping so a bit pricey, I will need to paint it as well but I plan to repaint my front anyways.

The big issue that comes to mind is that for the price of only 100 grills you could buy another CX-5! Complete with chassis, engine, transmission, wheels, tires air conditioning, etc. (and yes, a grill). Oh, and you would have $9,000-$18,000 dollars left over!

But I never understood those who spent $10,000 on a (boobs) job either.

I guess if you don't have any outstanding loans, and that's how you want to spend your money, go for it!

You used this same logic when I suggested updating the grill on my 2013 to the newer style for about $250. Made no sense then and makes no sense now! Why not 200 grills for $80k? Then you could use the money to buy a new CX-5 and have $18-38k left over. What's your point here Mike? How come you haven't used this logic on a certain individual from San Antonio who pours thousands of dollars into not one, but 2 consecutive CX-5s trying to turn them into something they were never intended to be?

Oh, but I have! I just don't want to rub it in too much because Chris is a sensitive and insecure individual (probably why he needs to 'upgrade' everything). I've already made him aware of the financial benefits of saving/investing and I think he gets it. He's just addicted to spending, nothing more I can say.

I just think $400 for a grill is outrageous when most of us already have a perfectly good one. Maybe my example doesn't work for you - fine, everybody sees things in different ways. It's not like we are all cut from the same cookie cutter. I've had people who are soliciting a $1000 donation from me (for a good cause) say "It's less than one Starbucks drink a day for a year." Guess what, it worked.

I think your example is even better, 200 of these injection molded grills would be "worth" $80,000.00? Really puts it into perspective for me. Terrible value. And you still have the expense of painting!

I say make your decision upon Chris' experience. Being that he can vouch for the company. Only you know your $$$ situation. Keep us posted with pictures if you do it!

I mean really, the best thing would have been to buy a $4000 geo metro instead of a top line cx-5 and get 40mpg. And then have about $25000 left over to buy mods. But actually, his financial situation isn't my business unless he takes the topic in that direction or has a question directly related to finances.

So maybe someone has an '13, '14, or '15 model and wants to spend $400 to freshen up the appearance, so what? It may satisfy the need for new for a lot less $$$ than replacing the vehicle.

I mean, some might question why buy a Mazda CX-5 Touring AWD when a 2WD Sport Manual would suffice and bank/invest the rest. The point is, why bother bringing it up?

Then you would have a $29,000 car that was worth about $5,000.

For some of us, our cars are one of our hobbies. So sense is not existent. I like cheap(er) mods, though.
