It does if the Mazda6e is anything to go by, don’t think anyone is debating that…The trademark info is interesting to note though…Another possibility is that as I mentioned before, they’re covering their bases and registering names that they may not actually use in order to prevent others from doing so…CX-5e could be that or an actual EV CX-5. Additional factors to keep in mind is these are European registrations and the Mazda6e (EZ-6) was co-developed with a Chinese manufacturer…Makes me wonder what this means for a possible CX-5e as well as other “e” models.I would've thought the "e" would be used to signify EV versions.
CX-30 to possibly get the 2.0L X engineOkay couldn’t help myself lol…Gave it another try…It still can’t seem to incorporate EZ-6 styling but it did manage this…Slight variation of the previous one now with CX-60/70/80/90 style headlights…

Thanks for the heads up...I've been seeing this design surface recently...Hmm, not sure how I feel about it yet, it's definitely intriguing and seems quite sophisiticated...I hope that this is a complete design update and not just what amounts to a front and rear end styling refresh. Love the past two CX-5 gen designs but it's time for a next gen look and I'm excited to see it!Everybody is speculating about the new 2026 Mazda CX-5. Here's another one and, I have to say, this exterior, this new facelift, looks better than CX-90! Or at least I like it! A new design with fog lights! Love it!
Big UPDATE from Japan on the 2026 Mazda CX-5 redesign!

Yes There have been rumors of an 8 speed for the last few months --hard to say what will actually happen- likely both 6 and 8 speeds However - I have no regrets on buying a 25 CX5 - as its been a good 10 years of engineering and getting the kinks out -- The only other vehicle that beats it in this dept is the Porsche 911 -- changes made cautiously year by year --- then of course if you want a Japanese made CX5 -- prepare to pony up another 25% here soon --still worth the $$At this point, I am more concerned about transmission. Look is fine with me.
There is a rumor that next CX-5 will continue using the current 6-speed.
I hope Mazda wakes up... To me, that is the weakness of current gen.
MPG, that is. 8-speed helps.
and 25% after April 25th.There's an article today on AutoBlog regarding Mazda's near future and spending. It mentions the "next gen" CX-5 getting pushed from '26 to '27 using the SKYACTIVE-Z engine along with their new in-house hybrid.
