2013~2016: CX-5 Radio unit connector pinout

Hey guys!

I'm working on a project to connect 2 amps to the standard radio in CX-5 and need to know the pinout of connectors at the back of the radio unit.
So here is the picture of the connectors:
https://g-a.d-cd.net/d43189u-960.jpg
can anybody share a list of signals on each of these connectors? I find a lot of information about CX-7 units and almost nothing about CX-5. Any help is appreciated!

P.S. By the way if anyone is interested in wiring out Line-Out signals (low-level) then this post might be useful for you. It's in Russian but everything is pretty obvious on the pictures there. You can take 2 or 4 special microphone cables like Belsis BW7824 (one of the cheapest) and solder one of the cable's wire to a capacitor's pad, and another wire to a solid Ground on that PCB. Of course you also need RCA connectors (female).

Sorry this is a bit hard to read, just copied over from the tech sheet. (also note this is based off of USA vehicles so it might be different for your region)

Thank you!

There may be a difference indeed, because I'm pretty sure that there is not "satellite radio" here.

However is it possible to list signals with connection to a specific connector? I don't see wire colors and therefore can't figure out which connectors you describe. I found this picture, but also would like to know other connectors' arrangement

The main white 24 pin plug is what you have in the picture you linked.

The pins are counted as opposed to labeled as Mazda does it. Not to bad to figure out.

Same for CX9?

Do you know if this is the same for the CX9? I have an 08 CX9 w/ Nav, Bose & Back-up cam (no DVD). Trying to find a schematic just like this for my model. Any thoughts?

Hi Max777, hope your project worked out OK. I am installing an aftermarket h/u, and I don't know what the two wires going into the green and adjacent grey sockets are for. Please can you enlighten me? Many thanks, Roger, UK.

I want to fist apologize for reviving a dead thread.

But I want to thank

@thedaddyb

I installed a Sony XAV-AX4000 into my girlfriend's car 2013 Mazda Cx-5.

Everything worked fine except the screen dimmer from the headlights being turned on.

I bought the following ( see attachment images ) from Crutchfield, but I did not use the pioneer headunit , instead I used a Sony I bought from BestBuy. ( I will be returning the Pioneer)

The Crutchfield wiring diagram ( see attached image ) told.me to wire orange/white to solid orange . This did NOT work for me

By following bigdaddyb post

"Radio Illumination yellow/green (parking lights);"

This is the connection coming from the Mazda.

I pulled the shielding back from the yellow green wire and attached it to the connection coming from the Sony , which in my case was a orange/white wire.

(The wiring diagram for the Pioneer is the EXACT same for my Sony Xav-Ax4000)

I connected the orange/white to the yellow green and my auto dim worked.

I also installed a backup camera, I wanted the backup camera to always be powered on, not just when the car is in reverse.

I had to connect the reverse in from my Sony headunit to the body control module white and black cable.

Crutchfield list the following for the body control module

"
Location: 18-pin blue plug at Rear Body Control Module in driver's rear quarter panel
"

See attached images. The last two images of the harnesses are the Body control module for the backup camera reverse trigger.

I am writing this all just to be of help to somebody else in the future

I have stupid question. My car has bose system, where should I tap the “SUB-OUT rca” from the back of aftermarket head unit? To one of the pins or should go directly to the amp/sub?

I looked at the spreadsheet above and it didn't mention it. I've also seen a pinout digram with a mazda 5 which isn't a cx-5 but similar and it shows the stock radio wiring connector has the vehicle speed signal at position 1I. I've seen the reverse signal and parking brake signals are also on this connector for other models anyway.

Anyone know if this is the case for the 2013 CX-5 for an easy place to tap into this in the front near the dash?

The stock radio had a navigation system and a backup camera so it should have a reverse signal, but it would be 6V and need to be stepped up. I'll be using a bypass to the parking brake signal isn't much of a concern
