CX-5 Invoice Price

:
2014 GT AWD / Tech / Skyblue
All,

What websites do you guys use to find out the invoice price? My wife will most likely be getting the 2014 cx-5 grand touring awd soon. This is what I pulled up from carsdirect.com

MSRP PRICING:
$29,665
INVOICE PRICING:
$29,296
CarsDirect Price: $29,655

So even if I get invoice price from dealer, it's about a $300+ saving from msrp. Is that about right? I don't plan to drop by the dealer, just negotiating everything via email or phone and going there to pick it up. I've already test drove the 2013 models of the cx-5 (sport manual and touring auto). But have yet to sit in a grand touring but it's just more bells and whistles.

Thanks...

TrueCar has the invoice at $29,195 with an average of $29,539 paid Nationwide. Some dealers will tack on another $100 for some doc or other misc. fees to make up the difference between MSRP and invoice anyways if you were one of the lucky ones to actually buy at invoice. The CX-5 is reasonably priced and well worth the money paid in my opinion.

Did you go through truecar? Seems like if you register with them you can just get the pricing from the dealer and go there and buy instead of haggling, etc.

According to Edmunds the invoice for a 2014 AWD GT is $28,834. $28,039 plus $795 delivery.

Yeah I'm not sure how it works, I paid MSRP for the GT, AWD with Tech Package which was $30,415 back in 06/2012. I wonder if truecar is the real deal.

Truecar supposedly gives you what is close to true market value. But I was under the impression that part of the point of the site was to avoid hassling down at the dealership and so some customers are willing to pay a little bit more to not have to hassle.

Here's a great article on how TrueCar works. I've never used it but would always go in to see what the national average was for the cars I was shopping for. When I bought my CX-5 the national average was $200 below the MSRP, it wasn't worth it to me to go through the site so I just went to the delaer paid the extra $200. I'm looking at getting the new 6 and if I see a national averae I like that is well below MSRP I may try this site.

Edmunds has the correct invoice and MSRP. I just purchased a 2014 and I have a copy of the actual invoice and it was the same as Edmunds.
I was about $500 UNDER invoice before taxes and registration this was AFTER a $599 dealer services fee.

Bought a '14 Crystal White Pearl CX-5 AWD w/ tech package for $29195(includes the $500 Mazda loyalty cash back) so other colors besides the Soul Red would be $28,995.

+1 for Edmunds. Right on the money.

They also list both msrp and invoice price for all accessories and options.
