2014 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring
Hey all, I'm new here. I did a search on this subject and couldn't find anything; therefore, I'm posting and hope someone can help me.

I just bought a 2014 CX-5 Grand Touring yesterday (9/28/13). Upon driving off the lot, I noticed the instrument cluster looked like model B in the the owner's manual. See the first pic and compare model B to model A in the other pic.

When I stopped I locked my doors by pressing the button twice hearing an audible horn honk as well as noticing another beeping sound (possibly the anti-theft system). When I came back to my car, I changed up the audio settings then went to the vehicle setting to adjust the locks/lights/wind shield wipers. Here is the buttons I pressed display: setup/vehicle/locks-lights-windshield wipers. After, I accidentally pressed the "rest to factory" buttons.

Next, I notice my info button as part of the steering wheel doesn't work; the instrument cluster appears to have changed from model B to model A; and now when I lock the doors, the horn doesn't honk anymore. I looked everywhere in the manual, and can't find anything as to why this occurred.

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

The one with the FLAT HORIZONTAL fuel gauge is a model with TECH package. It also has a small screen under the Speedometer. This cluster has more usability and options (info button, maintenance notices, etc).
All others have the curved fuel gauge.

Your cluster can't change from A to B or B to A.

The INFO button is a Select/OK button. Press the Up/Down to navigate to Setup then press INFO to Select/OK it.
Pressing INFO while gauge is showing MPG or Distance Left does NOTHING.

nXt,

Thanks for the reply, first of all. I gotta say, I'm still confused because during the test drive and on the way home, the display showed how fast I was going and other cruise control details, such as the speed I set the cruise for. Now when I look at the right, it just shows a red outline of the vehicle with no other information displayed, besides the fuel meter towards the bottom. I also cannot get the info button on the steering wheel to do anything. I've tried to push it for 5 seconds, then turn on the car. I've also pressed the arrows up/down while the car is in park, but nothing happens. The vehicle doesn't honk when I lock the car, even though the horn is set to "loud" in the vehicle set-up options.

In the end, I'm probably sounding like a huge noob here. I may just have to call the dealership about this.

Check to make sure your hatch isn't slightly open. The red vehicle outline is indicating something is not latched (closed) properly. You cannot access any information until you find out what is open and close it

Thank you so much. Wow, I feel like an idiot!! I read your post, opened the hatch, then closed it shut. Then everything worked. Even the horn honked upon locking. At least I can rest assured knowing the car wasn't at fault…I was :)

Thanks for your replies.

No problem, I'm glad all is well.

I noticed once that I must have bumped my hatch open. The red vehicle outline appeared but didn't show any of the 4 doors open, but it looked like the outline of the hatch was brighter (or something, I don't exactly recall), I got out and sure enough the hatch wasn't latched.

You should be set now with all of the information appearing as normal.

Yes, it's funny how the simplest of solutions was the last thing to go through my mind. Thanks, again.
