Custom Mp3 Just Outta The Body Shop

dude, mazda's are rice. they are from japan..therefore rice. its a matter of how much rice we make it look. i'm personally going for the american look...no big wing..no altezza's...i hate that, i hate civics. thank god i'm 33.9% owned by ford. if it weren't for ford, mazda might be bankrupt.

Now why do you have to make statements like that? I sincerely doubt that's even remotely true....

Well thats your opinion BUT Im sure my car gets ALOT more complements than yours and I dare you to come to a car show and line it up against mine anyday! You just keep your car stock and fall victim to the "NORM" and be just like every other boring person in the world.

You should try to take opinions better. Your ride is different, and I respect people who want to be different. I like the roof, but what kind of roof is it? Ive never seen one like that before :). Also, the shaved door handles looks pretty cool, so I guess you dont plan on passengers in the back ;) . One thing I really dont like is the wing. It doesnt do justice for the MP3. Im one of those people who think huge wings look rice. Sorry if it offends you, but its my opinion. I may change my view if someone explained to me the purpose of a huge wing. Other than the wing, your ride looks nice. Please post info about that roof, looks nice. :D

The wings on this MP3 has three primary purposes:

a) creates enough drag to slow the car signifacantly (read: air brakes)
b) creates enough drag to waste more fuel; therefore polluting the environment
c) disturbs the flowing air to create more aerodynamic noices

it's secondary purposes includes:

a) turn the car into a wannabe super car and/or showcar
b) impress people by telling them that the owner has a lot of money to waste

Well...there are 2 ways to look at this....most of the time....you don't want to change a limited production vehicle because it decreases the value anytime an orignal part is replaced or taken away.....but if you're like me...you look at it like this..."I bought and paid for this car and if i wanna change somethin on it...i will...who cares about the value of it if its yours." I like the car personally.....thats my opinion.

By the way the car doesnt have a wing on it at all now and the front handles are bein "knocked off" as we speak and some other stuff is being shaved.I got a gas door off of a 98 CBR 900 motorcycle and we are goin to weld in the factory door. Then the interior will come

Cool. What is the gas door for? Also, what are you going to use to open the doors? :D

nice job, you have a lot of coin invested in that i bet. Not my cup of tea, would like a smaller wing but thats just me. The ragtop is interesting. I like the idea of having the entire roof open like that but I dont like the idea of having a cloth roof cosmetically or functionally. What about using the piece that came out of that hole and having it pop in and out? like a single big T-Top? just a thought. And have you auto-xed that since you had the rag top done? Given the unibody construction or whatever I would think that a huge hole in the roof like that would affect the car somehow, be it body twist or otherwise. Maybe im way off base and this isnt a concern even for unibody constructed cars (dont even know if im using the right term here but i think you all know what i am referring to) on TLC on jesse james' monster garage they had to be real careful when carving away at their VW they turned into a swamp buggy because if they ut too much of it away the whole body could lose its integrity.......

You know what really interests me about threads like this...The fact that people post pictures of their ride expecting to only get compliments. Well, this is board is to express opinions. Triplexcustoms (sorry, used proper spelling) does not seem to like when people post their opinion of his ride, if it is not what he wants to hear. Sorry, dude, but I too, think your ride DOES NOT look sick (as the kids are saying nowadays). I can see personalizing your car, but taking away some of the safety and functionality of the vehicle in the process just baffles me:confused:. Yes, I am sure that tearing a huge hole in the roof and shaving the door handles diminshes the safety in the vehicle. I cannot see how shaving the door handles could even be legal! The wing? Well, "withoutme" explained its purpose pretty much to the point.

Dude, if you don't like negative feedback, don't post pics of your ride on this or any other forum. You got to take the postive with the negative.

Easy killer!

I do agree, however, but I see both sides.

Why ruin the integrity and safety of the vehicle for exterior appeal or looks?

It is your car. Do what you want. Paint it Barbie Pink if you want. I don't care because I'm not making the payments and if that floats your boat then I'm all for it.

Ma be easy!

First of all, I would just like to say that everyone needs to relax. Now, before you all go bashing the roof and the door handles why don't you at least try to learn a little bit about an unknown mod. Both of these mods are extremely popular in MiniTrucks. I greatly respect TripleXKustomz for trying to carry trends from other automotive areas into this one. The roof is actually called an electrical sliding ragtop. Pretty much it is a sunroof, but instead of a glass pane sliding back and forth, there is a black piece of cloth. This changes the safety of a vehicle as much as a sunroof would (which is absolutely none). Now onto the shaved door handles. The doors are operated by use of a remote control that sends a signal to a solenoid mounted inside the door. Press a button and POP your door is open. Its actually real cool. There is usually a switch hidden somewhere under the car for emergencys sake. This is by no means unsafe and actually makes for a very clean "how the hell do you get in" type of look. As for the wing, the taste is the mans taste. Not all of us run up and down the strip with our caars so if it adds a bitof drag, but he loves the way it looks, then it is prefectly fine in my book. You guys call it ugly but in actuality its a matter of opinion. If you post a pic of your Protege in a Civic(lol) forum Im sure youd get laughed at by someone who has a differing opinion.

All in all, everyone just enjoy their Mazda....If you feel like flaming, go flame at a kid with a clone car. Let's just all laugh at the fact that there are only 1,500 of our cars in the country and everyone of them is "sick" in their own respect!

Can't we alllll just get along?

I dont have enough stickers to be rice :D or any type R emblems

Not hatin' here or anything, but any FWD car with a spoiler that big falls into the rice category automatically. That doesn't even take the huge exhaust tip into effect.

Mazdas are "ricer burners" because they are japanese, but they're not "ricey"...stock anyway.

Have you seen the spoilers they put on the speed touring cars...like the Tri-point protege's?

I'm not a fan of big spoilers but obviously they "can" serve some purpose.

lol..automatically, huh? Yeah, it's kinda true......

Hey guys i just want to answer a few questions first i dont have the wing anymore. second my car is kinda rice i guess.I like it to look fast but lets be honest i dont have the money to spend on a turbo or anything to make it real fast,so i have to go on looks alone.and as for my ragtop I come from a minitruck background and im not so into goin fast as i am lookin good so thats where that comes into effect.as for the question bout the coilovers they are ground control and you can cal them to see if they fit.Thanx guys
