Custom Intake Manifold

yea its been discussed before. I emailed them about it around lunch on friday, no response yet. I asked for pictures, dyno numbers, and flow rates. We'll see what I get back.

$750 CAD is like $400 US...I believe. My convertor is on my home computer. $400 for a 25hp increase is gravy in my books. once they have some dyno proof or video proof I'm on it. 25 horsepower is exactly what this car needs. Also, I wonder how it'll help those turbo P5 guys?

MP3's have a little different set up (missing VICS I believe) I don't see why this wouldn't work on any other protege with the 2.0L motor.

Also, mx3ownzjoo, why do you think the essentialspeed stuff is crap? I've seen 2 of their turbo kits and they look damn nice. They also make ass-loads of power. What are you judging this comment on?

Yeah, there should be no reason it only works with the p5- same motor, same space under the hood- I haven't seen these guys stuff in person before, but for that much money it ought to be pretty decent quality- I would say the main reason that the jdm intake manifold is so much more is the importing cost from japan, and it's from corksport- I love those guys but damn are they proud of their stuff...

MP3 does not have the VTCS. It does have the VICS though.

Exactly what is he doing to make the manifold better? Removing one or both of the systems, or what?

The pictures they have on the site make the products look like s***. The welds and the metal look uber-crappy IMO. It sounds like you're impressed with ES's work, so maybe the online pics don't do the products justice.

I think the proof is in the pudding. I know two people with the ES Turbo kit and they both love it.

I am deffiantly in for this manifold once i can see a dyno chart. numbers don't do anything for more. I want to see if the curve is bumped up 25% or if just the peak is 25% higher....big difference!!

i'm thinking i'll just design something of my own...have something in mind...quad weber TB leading into a plenum is looking good. so it a tubular dual IM similar to the stock one but having VICS working even better and being even shorter

Twilight....sounds nice.. I was hoping to be able to purchase a N/A intake manifold that cost more than a stage 2 turbo kit!!

I've seen those intakes before and they are sevral thousands of dollars. this manifold will be less than $500USD. How much do you expect something like your weber quad to cost??
