Custom Gauge Pods

I am in the process of making a custom fiberglass gauge pod that will replace the stock center console (where the shifter is) and it will house 3 gauges. This unit will cover up the cup holders and ashtray. If anyone is interested let me know so I can make sure that the mold I make can be used several times. When I have it complete I will post pics. I'm just trying to get a feeling of how many people might be interested. I think they will sell for around 250 primed and ready for paint.

This will work for all P5, MP3, MSP. I am molding this from scratch and it will take me a few weeks depending on my work schedule but I will get pics as soon as possible. If I get enough people interetsed I will build a very durable mold that I can make many new consoles. If anyone would like to provide input let me know. I think I am going to also make a spot for a engine start button. The gauges will be angled towards the driver.

sounds cool, but they will be hard to see..

I sometimes have trouble looking at my A pillar pod, i couldnt imangine looking down.

Sounds cool though, get some pics up.

Hey, Insidious... I thnik I meant to ask this before, but I keep forgetting. =) Is the GReddy A/F meter any good, or does it function just like a conventional (read: Non-wideband) O2, and bounce all over the place, generally just being annoying? =) Just kinda curious, is all. I had heard others mention it's a good gauge, but nothing of it working well. Hehee.

flat, spool spoke about the greddy a/f gauge in a thread a while back and spoke very highly of it. supposed to be one of the most accurate methods available before going the wideband route and even then i believe the accuracy was too close to justify going the wideband way..

Yes, it's a very accurate gauge. Mostly because it uses its own O2 sensor, not the stock one other gauges run off of. Apparently, it is damn near close to the accuracy of a wideband.

Hmmm! *adds that to his list for the RX-7, then* Thanks. =) It'll be kinda funny, though, having a one-wire O2 for the ECU and a multi wire O2 for the gauge alone.

It's actually not a GReddy A/F. I have Defi D-Gauges. Not very accurate in the A/F department (uses stock o2 sensor). Just for looks mainly. Any tuning to the car will be done with a wideband.

hmm, thanks for the link. i'll think about that when i do 3 gauges. right now i'm just concentrating on the boost.
