custom exhaust...???

I am thinking of going with a custom 2.5'' exhuast w/ a high flow cat because I hate that slop sound with out.

Just wondering if you can get the same gains from a custom with crush bent aluminized steel(obviously not going to last as long as SS) as a mandrel bent system like greddy or magnaflow?

Also, are there any shops out there that are able to mandral bend pipes?

your usual muffler shop will NOT have a mandrel bending machine...they're quite expensive. however, a competent muffler shop should be able to buy the necessary mandrel bends and cut and weld everything together. that's how mine was done.

there is a reason why people use mandrel bends rather than crush bends....but i'd say at lower boost levels and lower power levels, you won't see much of a gain using mandrel bends. but hey, if you can afford it, you're certainly not gonna hurt anything by going with mandrel bends.

if 2.5" consider trying this. its another option.

Buy a 2.5" catback from ebay for less than 250 shipped brand new. These are pretty decent catbacks, its T304 Stainless Steel, Mandrel Bent, Tig Welded, and has CNC Machined Flanges. much better than crush bent aluministeel like what your lookin at.

the catch is, they were made for protege5, not mazdaspeeds so a little modification is required. all you gotta do is add a 6" extention and it'll fit the msp fine.

thanks for the help, turns out there is a GB on the corksport exhaust so I am going for it.
