custom exhaust

so my friend works at a muffler shop..he can bend me a 2.5inch catback pipe if im interested in doin a custom exhaust for like 100$..i was thinkin of doin this then just strappin on a nice muffler w/a resonator and a tip..ive got a 2.5 catless DP so i figured if i can get the catback custom made for around 300$ y not? cheapest catback exhaust ive found so far is like around 500 anyone think this is a bad idea or what? im lookin for ideas on mufflers too..nothin ricey..

Have you considered not even using a muffler? Although with the catless dp it might be too much...

My plan is a turbo or s-pipe back 2.5", single cat, resonator, no muffler.

The SRT-4's stock exhaust has no muffler, just a resonator...and I love the sound

ya i dont want too loud of an exhaust system so im def gonna get a muffler..any recommendations on good mufflers if i plan on goin w/a custom exhaust?

dood, have u actually seen SRT's exhaust?
that s*** has more bends that anything i've seen.
mainly that is what brings the sound down......that and cats.

Believe me you'll want to have as many mufflers on there as you can if you have no cats and any straight through muffler. Unless you like loud exhaust I just moved to a new muffler type "turbo muffler" from dynamax. I love it so far. No drone and a nice deep tone. A huge difference from my OBX straight through can. Not sure if the flow is any different yet.

blah. Make your own muffler, it's cheaper and there will be nothing else that sounds like yours.

the car is extremely loud with no cats and no mufflers, ofcourse at the time, my exhaust was dumped under the car which made it even worse........I ended up having it run out the back and they put a muffler on it, and that quieted inside the car quite nicely......it's still loud as hell outside though.

Where and how much for the muffler? I heard about this muffler from some guys on a "domestic" forum. Said its unbelievably quiet. But I can't find any specs on it and/or prices. Whats the inlet and outlet sizes?

i love my custom. 2.5 inch made by forza, it's a branch of OBX racing, everyone that hears it say i have the nicest sounding exhaust they've heard yet. it cost me $130 and is really clean... see pic.
