Custom Box 10" JL Audio Sub

I was vacuuming the car out yesterday and found that the Bose amp is located under the passenger seat on the 2016 GT with tech and I-active.

I ordered the "PAC AOEM-MAZ2 Mazda Add An Amplifier Adapter" that plugs into the back of the head unit. there's 2 RCA outputs and a remote wire. I have a 2015 GT with bose

did this work out?

That's where I tapped the rear door speakers at the pre-amp level, so the wires were straight from the headunit. It was a very convenient place to access the correct wires without pulling headunit and dash apart.

My current sub is a Kicker Hideaway and it is really underpowered for the money. Going to be looking at sub/box combos and add an external amp.

Interesting setup. I have 2 suggestions.

-Since the wood board is clamped to the tire, wouldn't plexi-glass offer a tighter seal?
-Create a cut out on the floor board then top with a durable grill. You could then eliminate the need for the wood planks yet have clearance for excursion yet retain trunk space. Then it would not be completely flat though.

Most likely, a plexi glass would seal better(most likely it will cost much more as well). Once in a while, the tire pressure decreases, then I tighten the ratchet. Eventually, I will have to take it apart, to fill it up.
I don't want to mess up my floor board. I carry TVs and other stuff and I don't want the grill to scratch something. I have the original JL grill, but it is to tall.
The sound, comes through the floor board, no problems there. I'm using my sub level, at -11(!!) on my Kenwood DNN991HD.
