Custom 3" Exhaust

Hey everyone,

I recently went on a road trip and for some reason my exhaust is boucing all around now. I got under the car today but didnt see anything wrong. Everything is bolted correctly, and it just wacks into the undercarriage on the slightest bump. Its so weird. I am gonna look again tomorrow. But the reason for the post:

I am seriously thinking about getting a single exit custom 3" exhaust built. Has anyone done something like this? How much do you think it would run me? If it turns out to be less than $500 I will definitely be doing this. I would love to hear what it would sound like.

Thought, opinions?

Your chances of someone with a 3" Bender is decent in VA beach. I'd do the same if I wasn't stationed in this dump with no good exhaust shops within 250 miles.

you heard the sound of mine , its beast . A cold start is crazy , my neigbors complain daily . Best 500 i put into my car . The problem i had was finding someone to do it . Best of luck, i suggest to do it , i love it .

Well, I got quoted today. They are the best in town from word of mouth. $375 from the test pipe back with a magnaflow tip. The parts will be here Thursday. So stay tuned for video of the new exhaust.

I honestly have no idea Akosi. I told the guy I wanted a single exit 3" from the test pipe back. He said $375 and come back Thursday. I said, OKAY! I hope I didnt sound like a kid goin to disney world.

I have the ultimate racing DP back right now. I am just getting 3" from the DP back. Which also means that the Ultimate Racing CBE will be on sale here very soon. Hmmmmm :D
They got the parts in today to do it but they got them late and the lift they need is already being utilized. And as for the Magnaflow question, I dont really know. I am guessing muffler and tip. I dont really care about sound levels. My S2000 was WAY beyong legal limits. But I dont modify my car to conform. If that was the case, I wouldnt put a cent into it. So tomorrow at 3 is my appointment. Hopfully, I will have enough energy to post a vid or something.

Okay, so the bad news is the guy used a low flow muffler and 2" piping. So you can't even hear the car anymore. We have a high flow straight through muffler coming in Thursday and he is special ordering three inch piping. So I guess it will be a couple more days before I post up the final results.

Yea, as soon as I turned the car on I couldnt hear the exhaust at all. It was weird. Then as I drove away, I could feel the turbo trying to build boost and struggling against the new found backpressure. It sucked.

WOW i would have rippped who ever did that to your car a new asshole , are they gonna give you some $$$$ back ????

Well, I told him I wanted single exit exhaust. He said okay. So in all fairness I didnt say that I wanted it the way I just described. But any tuner/enthusiast should know what the hell happens when you go from 3" to 2" exhaust with a bad muffler. But he only works on janky ass old domestics on 24s that want their 'donks' to be loud for cheap. So I will be paying for a new muffler and he will be covering the cost of the new 3" piping and labor. So its fair enough in my opinion.
