Custom 2.5" S-Pipe Back Exhaust System

i got mine setup the same way....i can switch back to stock muffler anytime,
i can actually switch everything back to stock myself in a matter of 1 hour. which comes in handy when you live in cali and drive catless....hehehe.
dont think i would switch to stock muffler though. its pretty restrictive from what i've heard, and would create sort of a bottleneck.
i kept all mine original exaust including the flanges, just in case i have to put it back to stock.
congrats on your exaust man, i know how it feels.....you must wanna drive nonstop now huh? :D
The stock exhaust is "NOT" that restrictive, it is very straight through.

Yes, I want to drive the car more (not when super hot because of heatsoak).

When heatsoak occurs I wonder how I can get $1000.00 to get a FMIC shipped.

I am a little confused about this heat soak you guys are talking about. So you guys are saying the stock ic will be heat soaked very easily with a 2.5inch exhaust? or am i missing something?
the larger the diameter of your exaust the longer it will take you to build up boost cause it has less backpressure then smaller diameter.

Yes/No.

Cooler temps allow the fast recirculation of air from intake through IC out of turbo to exhaust.

Wamer temps allow the SLOW recirculation of air from intake throuch IC out of turbo to exhaust as stock IC get's hot and therefore can not charge the air to keep it cold.

Larger exhaust and aftermarket intakes is more air in - more air out theory. Therefore in cooler, more air in/out FASTER HP, hotter, SLOWER HP. There "may" be detriment of larger when getting heat soaked than smaller piping due to the stress put on upon the IC.

Understand?

i hear you , man heatsoak sucks left donkey ball.....
i am working on that same $1000 for FMIC

I am no wise man with cars, so I have a question that might sound stupid to the true wise men of the forum. I had some guys at the exhaust shop throw on 2.5 from my cats back and replace the the muffler with a 2.5 straight through dynomax. Still has the origional cats and pipe before them. This might sound chap but for 120 it was fun. The same guy is gonna get back to me when he figures out how to redo the system straight from the turbo, most likely replacing the two origional cats with some form of high flow cat using all 2.5

What is heat soak and is FMIC the best way to avoid it? At the same time by using 2.5 am I forcing myself into needing some serious work done to my IC?
I have to be careful with what I do because I am trying to stay legal.
