(thumb) looking good! what temp paint did you use on the shield?
I bought it from another member here who said it was power-coated satin black. I just thought it would have stood up to the heat longer. The only other thing I can think of is that when I cut the hole for the O2 sensor (I didn't want to have to remove that everytime) I left an exposed under edge and the coating might have just peeled from that point. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to go get it coated again... or get a new exhaust mani (glare)

i sprayed mine with some silver hi temp paint and it worked well for a yr or so??

I painted my heat shield with black engine paint and with in a month it turned UPS brown. So I said screw it and got a header.

Here's a clean engine bay for ya! I should have everything back together by the end of this month!!

looks like its time to get a performance turbo manifold
Yeah I really want to get a new one but I really don't like the options out there. Focus' mani is nice but it doesn't look like it offers much of a gain and it doesn't look that good, not to mention the time it's taking to get them made. The thunder (I think) mani looks ok but it looks like it would break within a week - remember I have the Corksport DP so no support. I guess I'm just holding out for a used MAM one or something else.

Ya the Weapon R looks better but you can't even see yours anymore...that's mounted to low I find.

I like that placement. I would have done something similar if my filter didn't sit right above that spot. I guess I'll just have to deal with my bottle connected to the engine. Bah, and it's already fallen off once...

Picture of the latest, next I'll be modifying motor mounts with solid bushings to put motor back in the so that I can start the fab work on a remote turbo set up, dry oil sump, 1/1/2 qt. oil accumulator, and new oil cooler and radiator setup for better aerodynamics (i.e. no air under the car).

Reinforcement with 14ga steel for connecting to the roll cage to strut tower (suspension pick up points) to triangulate the Roll cage to the uni body (frame) to the suspension pick up points effectively making the car a super stiff tube chassis race car instead of flexy uni body want to be race car. Main reason for roll cage is safety of course but we road racers like it because of the dynamics it plays on chassis stiffness/tuning. The strut tower brace will be obsolete once all the 1 3/4"x.096 wall DOM 4130 tubing is welded in. FYI before welding the tubing to the strut tower a piece of 1/4" steel plate will be welded to the top of the strut tower and a 4"x4" piece of steel plate welded to the reinforcement where the tubing meets the tower.
