also yes I'm aware that my cold pipe has a nice dent in it, yay accident. I'm gonna ask the body shop to add that to the estimate and cut me a check to get a new pipe made.

This was my vision all along and I'm so happy it's finally finished!

p.s. I edited the black on my power steering cap, the black is coming off, need to repaint it.

Jaysanooch: looks damn good... nice to finish somethign and have it look exactly as u imagined

altspace: pull off some of that plastic so we can see that rotory goodness! I have a friend that has an RX-7, he's all into his rotory... has about 5 shirts that say somewhere on them "your heart beats, mine rotates"

^^ yeah you can pull it off for photos but you better put it back on. It's actually functional! Most car companies try to totally hide every little thing under the hood for no good reason other than that most people don't feel that engines are beautiful.

functional? what does it do? i always thought it was just dress....

yea, i'm glad my audi has one, cause the engine is UGLY! valvecover is just flat and the spark coils are massive and goofy looking...

Well I know one of the front pieces cools the battery? The Mazda3/6/MS3/MS6 have battery cooling ducts as well..

never realized there were heat issues with car batteries.. any more info on that Josh?

Actually, yes. There are 2 air ducts that flow air into the battery and the ECU. You can see then to the left of the AC cooler.

hmmm interesting...

my audi actually has a little scoop on the plastic cover around the airbox to cool the MAF...
it was wierd when i first popped the hood, i'm so used to the protege's engine just being all there... this thing is so much more concealed...

Some say the engine cover directs airflow over the engine and out the flutes in the front guards...good for engine cooling.

josh, what silver paint did you use on your engine parts (block)? and if you still have any left i'll buy it off you!
