Long time no post CX5!
A few weeks ago, i noticed a faint popcorn popping sound possibly coming from the air circulation/line/air intake.
Two days ago, after running idle for 20 to 30 min, my engine started to rough idle and would stall without acceleration/throttle.
Took it to Mazda. The vacuum plug had melted/popped! Mazda was able to same day fix as they were able to find the leak and replacement quick.
I will say that a week ago I came back from a 2500 mi trip from OR to CA and back again, and basically would go straight - i may have made my return trip in 12 hrs
I’ve probably had the Cork Sport Oil Catch for around 15k miles and it’s served me extremely well! Every oil change, which is from 3500-4500 miles, I also empty my OCC, and i usu get what you see in the attached image.
Again, I highly recommend the OCC, just be aware of possible overheating that can melt silicon parts.
Cheers,
Catch
PS
My 2019’s Total mileage is now around 22k miles. My stock Toyos are 3/32nd and 4/32nd. Time for new rubber.
Looking at keeping my stock wheels and going with Falken Wild Peak A/T trail (P225/55r19)
I was thinking about smaller wheel size with taller tires, and possibly lifting the vehicle - but i like the current handling and driving dynamics of my cx5 now and my driving life is more 90% highway 10% softroad.
