So I had these installed by a Mazda tech for $20 and wanted to show the pics hoping that it will help somebody out.

My first impression was that the car felt more structurally solid and there is a nice difference in driving behaviour. When stopped at a light, there is a slight vibration at idle where the seat wants to move around a little bit. I have read other reviews about this vibration and thought it would be a negative thing....it's actually kinda cool. :) I imagine the vibes will go away eventually but even if it didn't, I would be ok with how it is right now. This is coming from a guy that didn't want any vibes at all so I hope that means something.

I have been driving all week with the mounts installed and overall, I am glad I purchased. The car just feels better without a doubt but I do still notice some flex although it's nowhere near as bad as it was before.

For any new owners that want a good/cheap mod, this should be on the top of the list along with the shifter bushings.

I just picked mine up today from CS and installed them when I got home. I havent driven it at all today, so I cant give any feedback, but Im glad to see another satisfied CS insert user.

It took me a while to wrestle the motor mount out. The instructions should have just said to remove the 3 bolt motor mount, not to rotate the motor!

I fought with it again trying to install, looked around, and figured it would be much easier to just remove the 3 bolt piece of the mount.

Cant wait to take it for a spin.

I found moving the engine to be quick and easy. You just have to make sure you are pulling both the engine and the mount towards the front of the car. Was a TRZ for me, but entire process took less then 10 minutes.

In the attached pic, I have highlighted the three bolts that need to be removed in order to make this go a bit smoother. Be careful though because if you just drove the car, that silver piece is seriously hot.

same experiences as y'all had with brace. Spoke with Cork, suggested what you guys discovered. I am also pleased with my inserts, money well spent! thanks for the good pictures 101.

What an improvement! My girlfriend didnt notice the vibrations, but she did comment on how smoother the car felt during shifts. She thought it was all me, but the inserts help a lot with tranny/motor play.

At idle, there seems to be almost no extra vibration at all. Only when letting the clutch out and gas on it seems to be most apparent.

is that how you installed it. pic 2 looks like you put it together upside down. the insert is in upsidedown.

lol ya I didnt noticed before but it does look like you put them in the wrong side...if that's even possible? IIRC you can only insert them a certain way but I could be wrong.

Yeah, you can't put them in wrong...because of the way they are shaped, you just stick it in and it just works. It helps that they come lubed up from the factory (the inserts). Then, you have to get a crowbar or something to hammer it in because it's a nice tight fit. It also helps to hold up the ass end of the engine at the same time to wiggle the mount in place.

Why am I aroused after writing that?

if you look at pic two the diamiter of the blue inserts is the same as the opposite sides rubber mount piece it might be a coincidince.

Holy crap. I totally see what you're talking about. I am going to be calling them today to see if there is any way you can put them in wrong.

When looking at the inserts, it didn't seem possible to not fit them in correctly but as you noticed, the diameters of the inserts seem backwards. I am hoping that is just a design qwark.

So I just spoke to Derrick at CS and I also emailed him Pic 2. He says that I did in fact install them backwards. WTF. He said that when you put them together, the insert is supposed to be flush with the outer metal ring.

Crap, so I now have to figure out if I am going to have this fixed. As of now, there are no vibrations at all and it feels great. I just hope that I am not hurting anything by having it stuffed in there like that.

Can anyone provide any advice about whether or not it's bad to have a thicker mount in place? If it means I am going to damage anything at all, I will have it fixed.

Thanks for pointing that out to me btw.

It shouldnt cause any damage, but you really should have them installed correctly.

All you need is a jack, 2 stangs, 17mm and 19mm sockets, ratchet, and torque wrench.

Remove the 3 bolt mount, it makes it wayyyyy easier.

Or... bring it back and have the tech do it the correct way.

Things that happen like this makes me want to let nobody work on my car... except Corksport, because theyre close to me, know what they are doing, and are some very cool guys.
