Creaking noise when taking off.....

Also possibly a slightly stuck brake caliper, or on a long shot, a CV joint. But the CV joint would be more likely if it was making noise when turning. Could also be a spring/strut/sway bar or other suspension component in need of lubrication, depending on how long the creaking lasts, etc.

I'm getting a similar noise from dead stops coming from my front passenger wheel area.. it's driving me nuts. It only started happening about a week or so ago.

I get a strange crackling sound somewhere on the passenger side of the car when I drive at slow speeds. Its like I'm driving over pop-rocks. Its only noticeable when I'm driving at slow speeds, like parking lot speeds. Any faster and it goes away. Its really damn annoying and I'm going to have the dealer take a look next time I'm in for an oil change which is up in the next month.

Had the same thing after last visit to shop , they rotated tires and didn't tourq the nuts and they where lose, just a simple thought!

oh mee too only sometimes from a dead stop or going into reverse i hear this pop or tic sound from the front. its driving me mad too i think its my end-links cause they are aftermarket metal to metal contact. but not sure. what kind of parts do you have on ur car? maybe we can narrow this down.

I have the same noise. Seems to happen at RPM's 2000 and lower.....sounds like metal rubbing on metal....very annoying....no mods other than cold air intake

think it could be end-links, lateral rod, or shock tower maybe bushings going bad. mine only happens when i come to a complete stop and its only sometimes.

Put me on the list too.
When taking off I hear about 3 clunks from the front wheel areas.. gotta get it in, probably wednesday

those with a creak or metal on metal sound when taking off, do any of you have a cobb sri installed with mounting bracket?

You may find that the mounting bracket for the SRI has weakened and broken a metal tab on the battery tray bracket near the ECU unit mounting point. Worth checking, and a known defect with the SRI from Cobb.

I do have the Cobb SRI, but my bracket is just fine. Plus, my noise is coming from the other side of the engine bay, or front-right wheel.

Good thing to check, though, as I have also heard of the bracket breaking which leads to an abnormal sound.

I have the same problem and took it in under warranty. They said they found fracture in the drivers side axle and replaced it, guess it was the axle flexing under the pressure of take off. Noise went away.

wow you have some great mechanics my dealer prob say they can't find anything wrong with it. i told them about the window creaking and the glove box they say they can't find the prob. i am going take it to my trusty local mechanic and tell him that maybe it is the same place and it can be narrowed down quick

besides this my window sometimes refuses to go down, sometimes it goes perfect but other times it refuses but always eventually goes down after a bunch of tries, any sugestions on that?

kind of off topic... buddy, but just to answer you anyways, from what i was told from the dealer the window is pulled up and down by wires maybe wires are tangled or the motor is bad. or rusted.

good to know im not the only one with this problem. my car started by making two clicks on drivers side at take off from a dead stop about two weeks ago, and now at low speeds it clicks as if i have metal spikes on my tires. guess its time to take her in before warranty runs out.
