Creaking and crunching noise

Not sure where to start...
since the first winter I had my Protege 5, it has made a crunching, creaking noise when I drive my car on COLD day over speed bumps or up slight inclines.
All summer long, it has been fine, but now that it is getting cold, it has started again,, It seems the colder the weather, the louder the noise and the smaller bump required to make the nasty noise. It can be so loud that you can here me going over speed bumps from 300 feet away.
I have had the sway bar bushings under the front bottom of the car replaced twice. This seems to stop the noise. It was last done in February of 2009 and it will need to done again soon.
Both times the bushings have been replaced was covered under warranty even though the car was out of warranty. I had complained every year about this noise for the 5 years it was under warranty and had written documentation of this fact. Each time I was told that this noise was normal and nothing to worry about.
I contacted Mazda Canada and they finally offered to look into the problem. Gyro Mazda fixed it the first time, and Dufferin Mazda fixed it last year.
I spoke to Dufferin Mazda and they do not guarantee warranty work and thus I will have to pay this year to replace those bushings. At least if I pay, it will have a 1 year warranty.
My question, why does this keep happening. Is somthing bent that is making the bushings wear out? Should I go back to Mazda Canada and try to get it fixed again under good will warranty?

I bought the car as a demo model from Dufferin Mazda. It had 15,000 km on it. When I bought it, I got the full 5 year warranty as a new car. Do you think perhaps that the previous driver could have hit a speed bump way to fast and bent something under the car, thus causing the bushings to rub and wear faster than normal.
I really hate the noise it makes. It sounds bad and it makes me feel as if I am driving a car that is about to fall apart.

sorry for the long ramble...

any related assistance is much appreciated.

Mine does the same thing. Everything starts to make noise when it gets cold. Mine was originally an Arizona car so I just chalk it up to not liking the cold in Albuquerque. I thought it needed struts at first, but like you said, it only does it in the cold. The struts feel fine and I don't have any other driving issues. If it's the bushings every time, you might try mixing powdered graphite lube in a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol and spraying the bushings. The alcohol will allow the graphite to seep into the bushings and then it will evaporate so nothing is left to attract dirt. I had to do that on some aftermarket shocks I had on a truck years ago. I might give that a try on my P5.

I'm pretty sure that they can't do this if they're a Mazda dealership. In the states anyway, they have to guarantee the parts and labor for 12 months/12,000 miles. I would call Mazda Canada and tell them about this and see what they'll do.

As for the sound, mine makes that, but it only does it on cold morning when I first start the car and go over a bump. I am currently trying to track down a popping sound in my driver's side front part of the car when I am braking.
