CPE Standback installed and tuned..dyno results inside (pics)

I got the CPE Standback installed and tuned last week. All I have to say is...Wow!!! I took it to Import Hot Rod Garage and dropped it off. It took them two days (taking their time and working on other cars as well) to install it, tune and dyno it. There is not a wire in site, they did a awesome job putting it in. They extended the wires so they could hide it under the battery casing. They had me look under the hood and I'm telling you it would be extremely difficult for someone to spot any of their work...I was extremely pleased. After everything was put in and hidden Ronald started put it on the dyno and started tuning. He made two maps for me and set the switch for this on the side of my steering wheel (blinks red for stock map, flip it up and it blinks green for the tuned map). One is basically stock for dealership visits running at 15psi and the other is smoothly running at 19psi. This thing hauls balls!!! It literally fights for grip at the top of 2nd and keeps your back glued to the seat. I had to let off in the middle of third last week when it was raining, I just can't believe the difference in power from the standback and a good tune. Ronald made nearly 30 pulls in those two days and never hit a problem or rough spot. He loved how easy it was to tune and he was pretty amazed at the gains. It unfortunately rained all week so it was very humid outside, so my numbers could have been a bit higher but I"m still stoked! These dyno's are very accurate and need no adjustment whatsoever to the numbers you make. My base pull before the install was 230WHP and 260TQ. After my tune and running off the 2nd map we hit 253WHP and 288TQ (cabpatch) Third gear and fourth gear is just amazing, it feels like a different beast now. I did throw a cel over the weekend but I am going to get it checked out this week. Car runs beautifully though and has no hick-ups whatsoever at any RPM. Best mod to date by a long run!

What is the graph at the bottom showing? One curve is HP as can been seen on the right scale but what is the left scale? All you can see is "_g" and then decimal points along the scale. It definitely can't be torque, your car would be bucking all over the place from 3000-4000 RPM LOL!

Glad to hear that you're happy with the standback. I can't wait for a PnP solution w/ throttle plate control!

Ha! I didn't even notice that part got cut off! That side is my boost. I spike a little over 20 PSI and then level off at 19 PSI on the tuned map. It then slowly drops as I hit higher rpm's. I wanted to wait myself but having a really awesome tuner close by made me pull the trigger ;)

so it gained 23HP and 28TQ on a TUNED 19PSI ?? that doesnt sound very impressive ???!! 19 psi by itself should be worth more than that ! or was that gain on the stock boost ?? that would make sense. guys with 18psi with just boost controllers makeway more power than that, whats the deal ?

Very true. My car picked up roughly 50-55whp going from 13psi to 18psi. Seems like you should have picked up 28whp just from tuning and then another 30-40whp from the extra 4psi. I would have expected to see around 50-70whp from standback and the extra boost. What about your afr's? What did they look like? Seems like something is wrong. Not trying to knock you or anything just trying to be helpful and learn something myself.

No worries guys. Ronald tuned it very safely and could have leaned it out much more for higher numbers but I wanted a safe, reliable tune b/c its my daily driver. Again, this was done on a very rainy and humid day, TQ probably would have passed 300 on a cool dry day easily. The numbers are good to see and I'm happy with them but I'm even more excited by how much harder it really pulls. It doesn't even feel like the same car and thats in a very good way (cabpatch)

I probably won't get a TBE b/c of the stupid turbo seals leaking. I had to take off the TXS race pipe b/c of it months ago. I guess down the road I can upgrade the turbo then then go for TBE (drive2)

Turbo seals would still be covered under warranty because you didn't modify it. There's a couple people on the forums around here that have full turbo back and were still able to get their seals replaced. The downpipe is just letting the engine breath better and get all the gases out from the engine, harmless. In my shoes I should have done standback first before I went full turbo back. (CPE Downpipe w/ Hi Flow Cat, GHL Exhaust) Because I'm running a lot richer and my gas mileage as gone to hell. Since I installed the downpipe I've dropped up to 5mpg. I'm just waiting for the plug and play version and seeing if CPE can send me their custom maps.

doubt this mod will go undetected..
Depends how well they did the install. He could just pull the unit for the time being and if the wires are stealthy enough they may just look pass it.

Unless they pull the cover off for the ECU, then nothing is to be seen. Even if they update the stock ECU that is done up front in the drivers seat and again there is nothing showing. While it is possible for someone to spot this if the cover was removed its very unlikely. Here are some pics

So no throttle control then?
Can you keep track of the gas mileage you are now getting? With leaned out a/f ratios we should get a good boost in mileage since the stock setting is so rich.
