CPE CAI vs AEM CAI (w air straightner)

I have the CP-E intake, all I can say is that the build quality is top notch. You get what you pay for.

Can't say about the AEM CAI for this specific car, but I have the CP-E CAI and it's a beautiful piece. I'm happy as a pig in s*** with it. I did however have an AEM CAI on my last car and the fender mount ripped a hole below the strut tower. And I had MMI and rarely launched the car hard.

^ Good to know! I've been seriously debating the AEM/MS intake.

The negative I've heard on the CP-E is that the shifter weight pings against the piping on the intake and dents it?

It's hit or miss. There's some play when you install the intake, so it depends on what angle you mount the piping. My stock counterweight never hit, but it came within 1/4" in 3rd gear. I didn't want to chance it and got a COBB weight, and on top of never coming close to the intake, the shifting has improved.

A lot of people don't follow directions though, CP-E says to mount the weight upside down. If you do that it clears by a good bit.

How about the Injen CAI intake, how does it do on the MS3? I had it on my Si and it did great.

I've heard Injen is fine, but I don't know if it has the proper sized MAF housing. Anyone I know who has it has zero problems too.

I have the injen and its been great so far. Sounds awsome too.. Good luck with your choice. CP-E is a great company, I just couldnt bring myself to pay that much for an intake. It looks fantastic though
