Corksport SRI Compatibility

What are the chances that the CX-7 Corksport SRI fits and functions properly on a Mazdaspeed3? Probably not high chances, huh? Let me know if anyone has work with this... I just don't want to waste my time on trying to transfer this intake from my CX-7 to my new MS3 if it won't work, period. Thanks for all the help!

Never understood why SRIs are desirable at all. They just suck in hot air. the stock filter box intake is more efficient because it actually accesses cool air from outside of the engine bay. Especially on a forced induction application, it gets pretty hot in that engine bay.

I believe the SRI should work ....The only difference is the mounting bracket points...if you bought the SRI/TIP combo.....Also I have found the performance better with a SRI than when I had the CAI on....Pulls harder...shifts smoother....sounds meaner!

i don't remember exactly where i read it now, but i remember tests that showed the air in a CAI is cooler at the filter than a SRI, but at the throttle body there was very little difference since it still had to travel through the hot pipe. there are plenty of people that have actually chopped the CAI into a SRI because it was easier and performed the same.

the main point of a SRI is to avoid getting water/dirt/roadsalt/etc all over your filter and possibly into your intake.

The intake will fit the MS3 from the Cx7. The Cx7 had an extra bracket which would not be used for the installation of the intake.
