Corksport exhaust emissions and sound??

Would i have to swap out my exhaust everytime i needed to pass emissions, or could i just swap out midpipes (corksport to stock)? and wouldnt not having cats set off a check engine light because i dont have o2 sensor feedback?

How do these exhausts sound. i dont want a loud annoying exhaust. i like the stock sound but i want something a little more aggressiv sounding, something with a deeper growl but not an annoying buzz while im driving.

Thanks,
Jim

well the exhaust is pretty loud..it does sound mean though. It removes both cats on your car so you have to do a MIL Eliminator and you would have to swap out the exaust for emissions..dilema with that, the CS mid pipe is longer than the stock mid pipe so you will have to swap the midpipe and back s shaped pipe

Corksport has a silencer for this exhaust which i would recommend getting, i dont have one but have heard it helps quiet it done and kill the drone a little. I might add that my car is NA but when i was researching it was mostly in the MSP sectors.
I have many pics if you need them

Search MEGA aftermaarket exaust, in this section. It's a sticky and has a bunch of sound clips, one of the C/S exhaust.

it is loud and it spits loud of balck smoke (boom07)
The Magnaflow or SP2 sound nice and not too loud.

what about going with a ghl downpipe. it comes with a highflowcat and comes with the s-pipe, and since its made to go with the stock exhaust the pipe after the cat drops from 3in to 2.5 in, the flange is also a 2.5 in. if i could somehow get to corksport in individual pieces. or just buy the whole thing and get rid of the cs midpipe.

Why not a vibrant ?
A bit quieter, comes with silencer, cats, 3 inches and 799.
A deal

A ghl downpipe costs almoust as a complete exhaust

why not just have a hiflow cat put in permanently? unless you're putting down huge numbers, a hiflow cat's not gonna hurt your performance much. maybe a couple hp.

i hate a loud exhaust. and stock isn't a bad note its just a little too docile and restrictive. im not putting down big numbers just want to get it out before i can get it in.(so i can put down bigger numbers with less worry)

the recording on the megga exhaust post are nice to have but they are only a baseline. they dont do justice to the real sounds of the exhausts, the sound you would actually hear if your standing right next to the car. its either a quite stock exhaust or a screaming aftermarket one, and i dont want either.

you're gonna have to sacrifice something, either performance or noise level. replacing just the midpipe first may be a good place to start. you may want to look into an hks muffler as they tend to be on the quiet side. many of tanabe's exhaust systems are supposed to be under the 95 dB limit, though nothing is stated about their universal mufflers. my 5zigen was pretty quiet though the sound level did increase once i replaced the downpipe.

i should mention that anything placed in the exhaust stream will help to reduce the sound level, be it a cat or a resonator.

I had the CS exhaust for 2 days before I totaled the thing. Its not too annoying when crusing but when you get on it..ya loud. I was going to just weld in a hiflow cat into the cs pipe. That shouldn't of been too hard of a thign to do
