i have the cs cbe with the oem tips still on the bumper. i dont think the cs will melt the bumper. if one of your tips is broken you will have a lot of rattling as the cs cbe almost touches the tips. i bent the hangers to avoid that problem

i have a ton of rattling thats how it broke..it rattled so much that the plastic that holds the bolts broke so it cant just be replaced...i have the urethane bushings but it still doesnt help...my next move will be removing them

see the bushings actually make it worse if you have the oem tips. i had the bushings before but took them off its much better with the oem ones. again if you want to keep the oem tips either bend the hangers ot cut about 1" of the cs exhaust tip

I know it's not what you are asking but I saw someone at a meet a couple weeks back who had the magnaflow exhaust. He had taken his tips off and his bumper was starting to melt on the passenger side. Maybe get some heat wrap?

I used the CS CBE without the metal tips for the better part of a year without any negative effects. It rattled like hell with the tips in so I took them out. As long as you take care and make sure the exhaust is aligned properly you should be fine.

You should be able to adjust the exhaust at the bolt up connection points and with the hangars to keep the tips from touching the trim rings in the bumper. It does take a bit of time to get it just right.

I have installed 2 CS CBEs with NO rattles, buzzez, etc. The "trick" is to remove the OEM trim rings, drill out the two small spot welds that hold the inner and outer sections together. Throw the inner section into the trash and install the outer section back into the valance panel as OEM. Walla! Werks good, lasts long PLUS you still have a decent looking trim ring in the hole to balance the look back to OEM, just with HUGE pipe inside the trim ring.

See photo for example...
