Cork Sport 'Power Series' Tuner Computer update

Oh also since you are planning on upping the boost to 13 with the new mods are you thinking about forged internals for even more boost?

Also id the chip capable of a 2 stage system where from some kind of switch I could change from cruisin gas mileage mode to all out power mode? I read an article about a few cars that could adjust the boost like that and had good fuel maps for both to optimize economy or optimize 1/4 mi if needed. Can this system do that?

Question, you mention you "ran out of fuel" Care to elaborate on this? I know the stock injectors, rail and pump are probably too small to run alot of boost safely and need help, but what exactly do you mean you ran out of fuel at 10psi...
Did the a/f lean out horribly? Ive run 15psi and the car was still pulling fine, no knock, cutting out or anything.
I probably stressed the system a little, and it wasnt the safest, but please explain.
the stock injectors are pretty much maxed out from the factory... good luck trying to get more safe power from them

Yeah, I don't need to blow my motor and I'm sure most feel the same way.

270hp and consistant mid 13's in the 1/4 mile are the goals. Daily driven vehicle also. Hoping for around 25mpg. I don't know how gas milage is going to be now, however. I went from 23mpg to 29mpg after the Tuner Computer was first installed. And I'm sure it will be going down after bigger injectors too. haha

(by the way, I just saw the ProtegeFest coverage in Mazda Sport Magazine!)

I would hardly say they are maxed out. We got 248hp with the stock ones. That's a 78hp increase over stock.

You are forgetting this computer tunes for that much PSI. There's no wasted fuel anymore.

Yeah, still not sure how the packages will be set up at this point. Everything with the Tuner Computer is about 98% done at this point.

BTW, this time at the shop they added switches to change settings (as someone asked about doing in here). I can go from stock boost to high boost. They also built in maps for high octane fuel.

Yeah, ProtegeFest was good times. My car made one of the pics in Mazda Sport, woohoo! :-D

And what was your a/f
I have been there

With stock injectors and an FMU and at 8psi we still could not get enough fuel.

You have a different set up than what is on our project car though. They changed both fuel and timing maps to get the numbers they did. Unichip has some great knowledge and equipment.

If you look at that dyno you will see my old dyno, before the injectors and the fuel pump, you will see some spots the a/f goes below 10 and above 13 and the hp is lower,

I think what you are doing is great and I am just trying to give you a heads up

I agree and I am not trying to cause trouble like I said before I think anybody that does anything for the Mazda community is great. I wish we had more, keep up the work. If it was my car I would not be comfortable as a daily driver with 12.5 a/f

I am not a tuner by any means. So I leave the vitals in the hands of the experienced tuners at Unichip. I was just told something like 3,000 cars have been tuned by this guy. :-O

What size of injectors did you end up using by the way? I haven't done the math yet to see what we'll be running.

*thanks for the info though!
