Coolant Draining Constantly!

Hey guys lately iv'e noticed that my coolant has dramatically decreased, 3 days ago i filled up the coolant reservoir from low to full, and now 3 days alter its back at low, i checked the radiator as well and that seems to be completely full, i dont see any leaks anywhere in the engine or radiator, no white smoke at all, it seems like its just evaporating for some reason. although i know msp engines run really hot could that be the problem? i have no overheating issued tho. hmmm (boom06)

There has to be a leak somewhere. Probably the radiator or the coolant elbow for the turbo coolant lines.

Put some cardboard under the car. It has to be leaking out it can't just disappear. If it was burning that much coolant you would probably notice it.

Is the coolant still green? If the headgasket is OK then your turbo must be burning it like crazy, and you would see smoke out the exhaust and smell coolant.

it could be a leak at the hoses make sure all your clamps are tight

Edit: also could be a bad rad cap! Worth replaceing for peice of mind imo

it looks like one of the lower radiator hose might be leaking a little, it doesnt seem like it would drain the reservoir that quick tho, either way im going to replace it and tighten the clamps

everything expands when hot... I had a bad rad cap completely drain my rad in roughly 60 mile trip at highway speeds.. never smelt it nor noticed it tell the temp gauge went up.

could be that your water pump is leaking. When is the last time you did you timing belt and water pump?

i change the water pump the last year, and the water pump belt this year, but i don't have change the timing belt. you think it's time to do that???
may it's good idea change the rad cap, the one a i have it's 1.1 bar of pressure it's that ok???

Just get a cheap one from autozone or whatever as a replacement.. Its liek 7 bucks roughly

The Resevoir and Rad are seperated by a pressure cap.

Just because there is coolant in the resevoir, does not mean that there is coolant in the Rad...

It is unlikely that that amount of coolant could be boiled off so it must be going somewhere.

When a car is shut off and hot the temperature and pressure will spike for 2 minutes. This is when you need to check for leaks because the car would be quiet and leaking at it's most.

Get a good light and let the car get up to temperature, then shut it off..

Obviously do not run the heater or AC when you are trying to make the car warm.

And just an FYI if you still have the stock radiator with plastic end tanks it's best to stick with a 1.1 bar cap. Stepping up to a 1.3 bar raises the pressure in the cooling system and puts more stress on the plastic in the radiator, causing it to crack. It may not happen all the time but I have heard of it more than once.
