Convert my car into stick?

undefinedundefinedundefined Hey, im new to this, but ive been looking at this site since ive got my car. Ive been lookin around for a while now to see if its possible to convert my car into manual? But every shop said it would be to hard or there is no kit for it. I even called up mazda and they said they cant do it. So if anyne can help me out that would be great thanx.

Should have bought a manual to begin with which would have saved money instead of converting to a manual and wasting extra money. I doubt there's any easy way to convert to manual.

Don't know too much about what it would take to convert, but it might be easier just trading in for a manual?

At that time i didnt no how to drive stick. But now that i do i wanna get it so bad.

Ive already looked into that already, but then i would have to give $11,000 for the sports package and v6. I think if its possible to convert it it might be cheaper and considerin ive put $6,000 worth of work into mah car already. I rather not trade it in.

All I can say is good luck.

Hate to say it, but do a search. Other people (although not 6 owners) have thought of this before and calculations have been made. It's too expensive and just a huge job to justify it. Trade it in for a manual, the loss might equal the cost to convert.

ah, ok. Man, that's a lot of $. What have you done to it?

I have never heard anyone doing this or even attempting this but maybe try seeing if you can find a wrecked MTX 6 in a junkyard because I have a feeling getting the tranny will be one of toughest things next would be the computer

The price of an ATX to MTX swap is almost as much as the difference you'd pay trading your car in for a new one...except if you got a new one, you'd get a reset warranty (no warranty on the MTX swap), new hidden 04 features (like a larger sump), and you wouldn't have all the hassles of a half assed conversion.

For example did you know that even the radiator between the ATX and MTX differ? The amount of stuff being replaced is just phenomenal, not to mention the amount of things that can be "broken" during the swap.

I know, I researched, found out it was cost prohibitive, and traded my 6s ATX (03) in for a 6s MTX (04). Using S-plan, and available rebates, you can get a 6s MTX for around 18-19k (bare bones). Trade in value of a 6s ATX is around 16500 to 17000k if your under 30k miles.

I learned how to drive stick two weeks before I picked up my 6.. best decision I ever made

I leared how to drive stick on a "duce" and was gonna get a car with stick....then came to this hell hole called D.C.! Walls and Walls of traffic day time rushour and night construction!

I was once an owner that wants to convert my car from auto to stick, but the cost and labor just don't justify it. Like everyone said, it's better to trade it in for a new one than converting.

buy a shift boot and instal it..chapest way to convert atx to mtx....

Damn... this sux... I dunno i guess i should just keep the auto for now i mean ive had this car for 1 year and 4 months. I can always trade it in, in a year or two. I went to this one place where i can get a rotary engine with single turbo for $1,500 or twin for $2,000. Considering its an manual engine and transmition wouldnt i only need the guts for the stick and all?
All the money i put into mah car went into the inside of it. I have 5 TV's and one dvd player. Custom red and black interior including the ceiling of the roof black. Mazda logo on the head rest. Underglows in and out of car. A system of two 12 rockfords punches and a kenwood amp. tinted windows. Rims but found out once they were on that the off set wouldnt allow it to fit and it bent mah whole wheel well. And Lowering springs droped it prolly like 1.8.

how bout making it your show/daily driver and get a mtx to work on...cause yeah the amount you spend will be a custom stage 2 turbo kit with assesories and maybe a nice set of 17's.
